"Well, Mysterious one on the other side of the door, when we meet will we greet in dance?" She questioned kindly, she of course expected the usual answer down here
"heh... sure, why not...?" I mindlessly said to her, I knew she was excited for our meeting the next human that fell, that was an agreement. The next human to fall, she'd escort them out and meet me. I wasn't against the idea or anything, to be honest I could care less. The only problem was, dancing. I can't do it anymore. Not for anybody... Neither her or Papyrus, nobody.
"What is your main style?"
"my main dancing style?" I heard a faint 'Yeah' from the other side. I sighed quietly "hip-hop, freestyle, or whatever."
"I see, you seem like a relaxed person, so I perhaps can imagine upbeat music and smooth movements to follow them."
"heh, yeah..." There was a moment of silence between us "how about you?"
"Me? Oh, well I dance waltz."
"nice."
"I'm sorry to cut this meeting short, but I'm going to take my leave."
"alight, talk to you tomorrow then mystery lady" she giggled on the other side before I was met with silence. I stood up from the door and slowly started walking towards home. Coming to the small bridge, I stepped onto it and stepped off right in front of my house. I entered to me met with the smell of boiling water and pasta noddles being charred. "i'm back!" I called, not bothering to go to the kitchen instead just slipping off my worn converse and replacing them with my worn pink fuzzy slippers. I hopped up onto the couch flipping on the tv and pulling out my quantum physics joke book.
"AH! YOU ARE BACK!" My brothers loud voice boomed towards me, he stuck his head out of the kitchen.
"hey paps." I said grinning towards him, even to my brother they are fake. Yet I always wear a smile.
"ANY NEW HUMANS TODAY?!?" He called, I shook my skull, he gave a small 'hmph' but went back to the kitchen. I continued reading on before dozing off to sleep.
"Haha, Do you think even the worst people can change, for the better?" She growled to me, making my structure tense. She not only killed him, but was now mocking me with some of his final words. "No I'm being completely serious Sansy, do you think bad people can change?" I stared across the hall to her, golden colors blindingly bright in this room in particular. The wicked smile she wore grew even more unsettling as she took a step closer, the knife tightening in her hands "Please Sans... Your answer depends on this..." Her voice wavered, loosing all insanity. That's when I realized, she didn't want to do this anymore, perhaps even in the first place.
"i... i do believe that people can change." A new smile appeared on her face, not insane, not wicked, but a scared smile. Thankful and begging for forgiveness. The tight grip that she held onto the knife ended and it want clattering to the ground, echoing all around us. Tears brimmed my eyes and tears streamed out of hers. "c'mere frisk..." I called quietly to her, holding my hands out. She kicked the knife the opposite way of us and she ran to my arms hugging me tightly. As she was afraid of loosing me.
"I'm sorry..." She'd mutter into my shoulder, repeatedly. "I'm sorry... I'm so sorry... Chara took control... I'm sorry..." She was now shaking, her dusty sweater a dull cornflower blue and magenta stripes.
"frisk, was this all chara? or did you kill everyone?" She tensed and her grip tightened, as if she was going to loose me. She was shaking harder now and I didn't want to believe it, but she said the simple three words...
"I-It was me...." I didn't move for a little bit, just held her a little closer, as she was the one I had found that I loved in previous timelines, still my love for her lingered to this one. I tightly held on to her as I opened my eyes, one glowing a bright cyan blue the other being completely black.
"i'm sorry kiddo..." I mumbled, tears still spilling from both our eyes, as I created countless amounts of bones and they grew to pierce her back. She gasped and pulled back to face me,
"Sans..." She whispered, lifting a bloody hand to my skull and holding it lightly. "N-Next timeline... W-will you... You... Dance f-for me...?" She asked quietly. She lifted up her red determined heart to me "f-free them this time... I-I'll see yo-you Sans..." Her breaths grew slower and her eyes grew more dull, eventually lifeless.
"of course..." I just laid my head down, and took the time to rest before the next reset, she told me she'd make. That never came, as a shadowy figure hovered over the two of us. A knife held extremely tight in the figures hand, it's blood red runny eyes gave away the spirit of Chara. I, of course had no intention to fight back as it began to slice up my back repeatedly. Slowly blood seeped through my dark blue sweatshirt making it seem purple, the figure laughed and disappeared. As I woke up in bed a panting mess.
~~~~~~
My eye was glowing a bright blue as I sat up quickly. Trying to calm the speed of my racing heart, well not that I had one, just till my breathing had returned to normal.
"SANS?! YOU UP YET??" Papyrus called from the bottom of the stairs. I hopped out of bed and ran out of him, he was dressed in his nicest dancing suit. "WE HAVE THAT COMPETITION TODAY!!" He shouted to me.
"oh yeah..." I threw on my hoodie, seeing no cuts in the back. And slipped on my converse, as Papyrus was running out the door, I following. I grabbed his hand and teleported to the venue right outside of the core. Papyrus let go of my hand and groaned, as he hated teleportation. We both ran in to see everyone, even the king had made it. I sat between Alphys and Papyrus, we watched many monsters go up and dance.
This competition was for anyone to enter and see of they had what it takes to dance with the amazing idol Mettaton. There were at least a thousand entries seeing that every monster wants to dance with Mettaton. I myself could give more care to that, but Papyrus signed me up. One by one monsters were called up to the stage to dance, showing off their techniques and styles of dancing.
"WHAT ENTRY NUMBER ARE YOU SANS?!?" Papyrus shouted to me, I looked down to the card and felt my non-existent stomach fall. 'Number Twenty-Two' I would be one of the first dancers up today. I began to sweat and handed the slip to papyrus who gasped "IM SORRY SANS I KNOW HOW YOU EASILY GET STAGE FRIGHT!!" I smiled weakly up to him, back then... Those smiles weren't as fake and held something in them. The rest of the time we sat there Papyrus trying to cheer me up and ready me for when 22 was called. We talked about my routine then his, and around number 20 we went back to talking about mine as a refresher.
"Don't worry Sans! Y-you'll do just great out there!" Alphys said cheerfully. I smiled slightly less worried and just focused on staying calm.
"thanks alphys" i got a few more good luck's and break a leg's before the dreaded number was called.
"Number Twenty-Two. Sans the Skeleton. Hip-hop/freestyle."
