We begun with our hands interlocked, tightly we weren't going to let go. She stood tall on the tips of her toes, and she finally was as tall as me. We moved in unison. Sync. As we swung around gracefully, I went along with the ballet style well, and our feet graced along together despite my lazy foot attire. We both allowed each other to calm down, close our eyes, go with the flow. With an end result of a new sensation between the two of us. We ignored it and continued to dance and enjoy each others touch.
When we twirled to an end, our eyes peeled open, only to widen at the sight before us. Our souls had slipped out freely, and they were dancing red and blue. Frisk and I stared, silent and wide-eyed. Our hands slowly finding each other and intertwining.
"Frisk" I said, finally breaking the silence thickening around us, she looked up to me "I love you."
••••••••
After we had danced our hearts out, we both sat staring out the the underground all empty and dark. It was quite terrifying and beautiful.
"Sans?" She asked quietly, making my head snapped in her direction, and my eyes stared down to meet hers. "This is so different." She whispered, her hand tightening around mine. I chuckled. She smiled too, but I nodded in agreement.
"So, we really..."
"Are soul mates."
She giggled, as tears formed in her eyes, I pulled her closer to 'kiss' her face, wiping away her tears.
"I hadn't realized, till the big blizzard, but I was afraid too, and pushed it away."
"What about Crystal?" Frisk asked, tilting her head to the side, I thought a second then shrugged
"She's strong, smart, and pretty. She'll find someone better than me." She was quiet for a second.
"There can't be anyone better than you sans," she said softly, not letting go of her hands locked around my waist.
"Papyrus!" I pointed out, my face falling a bit, frisk laughed
"True, he is the greatest"
"Papyrus." I said again, staring out to the shadowed castle, her eyes furrowed and she looked to where I was looking till she caught on.
"Oh my god!" She screeched, letting go of my waist, and standing up quickly "how did we forget the rest of the Underground is missing?!" She began to panic, holding her face in her hands pacing around wracking her brain thinking of ways to bring them back.
"Frisk..."
"They are gone! They have been this whole time, and we both completely had blanked it and forg-"
"Frisk!" I said taking her shoulders, with wide, teary eyes she looked to me. "Asgore is still here right? We can find him and see what we can do to help bring them back, okay?" She nodded, her eyes filling with determination. "I'll check the ruins, you check the castle then move down to hotland. We can meet back up in waterfall, at the dump. Kay go!" We split, and I was in the ruins again. Last time I had gotten the previous queen out of her confinement by herself. I started by the first patch of golden flowers right below the barrier quickly running and checking each room through before I burst out into the cold snow again.
I ran through, passing the house again, I entered to see it like usual, but clean and tidy, the stove the pan still sat steaming. I peeked into it again, and still, it was empty. I took it off throwing it in the sink which was back to a normal height. I shook my head and left the house.
Finally into waterfall, there was no sign of the king, so I went and sat in the dump till Frisk had scared me by grabbing my shoulder. A small smile played on her lips as they moved gently to say "I found the king."
And that she did, we stood in a long hallway, with children coffins lining down it. Each had a different color and name. Asgore sat silent and sullen staring at them all. He sure felt his sins crawling on his back. They were all over.
Frisk was first to go to him and get his attention, placing her small hand on his large paw. He jumped and looked up to see her, tears lined his eyes
"What good is a king without his people? What good of a king who is a murderer." We exchanged glances.
"King Asgore... We want to get them all back, but we don't know how? Do you?" He lowered his head as he didn't speak. But that didn't mean we did not hear all the voices around us.
Above us, swirling in rainbow disarray, six little souls of children whispered and chanted, singing to us. Finally they had all slowed down to a halt and smiled to us. Of all of all the souls only one spoke, the green little girl, Kindness.
"You want to free them," she said so softly, so innocently. "But they are already free, you are the last souls here... Two souls bound together." She smiled softly tilting her head to the side. "The only way to wake up and be free now, is to end your dream-selves." Her eyes turned sullen as she smiled. She turned to Asgore "oh, King. We forgive you, we all understand, it had to be done. Don't cry for your sins weren't in vain as they were for many." She rubbed the top of his head gently. He sobbed into his hands, thanking them all, kindness and the other five souls.
I looked down to Frisk and leaned forward a bit kissing the top of her head. "Frisk..." I took her hand teleporting to the golden hallway. I picked up the knife and handed it to her gently, I summoned a single bone that was sharper on one edge. "Let's make this the last time. We wake up together," she blankly took the knife and her hand shook as she did so.
"I don't want to... She whispered,
"Me either..." I grumbled, "so let's together, and never have to repeat this." She sighed but nodded, coming closer, the two of us fell to our knees right in front of each other, holding our weapons to our own chests, but the blades faced the other of us. We both leaned in, pulling into a kiss. Piercing each others fronts, we didn't let go, as blood filled our mouths....
We woke up, finally.
