"You know, I don't want you to catch a cold out here." I smiled softly to her, my face inches from hers once again, she rolled her eyes softly, and just stuck out her tongue out playfully.
"It's not even that cold out Sans!" She grinned, I pulled back holding up her hand in between the two of us for both to see. Her fingers had begun to slightly turn purple.
"I don't want you to hurt yourself!"
"And I just want to dance" she pouted, I facepalmed.
"One little dance, okay?" I smiled softly, she grinned and the two of us began again. Ignoring the world around us, we couldn't have cared less of anyone saw. We danced out hearts out, our souls twirling around us once again, happy we were, no more chara. No more murdering. No more dust, just snow around us, floating freely in the sky. Warming up, we skillfully stepped around us, our feet stirring the snow. "I'm glad we found you again Frisk" I said leaning my forehead on hers. She grinned happily up to me with her eyes closed, and nodded. The sound of crunching snow was what snapped me out of a trance of Frisk. I looked up, Frisk still hadn't noticed quite yet, until her gaze also met the other girl.
She smiled softly and rose a hand in a way of waving hello, her hair reached about mid-back and was a nice shade of brown. Her eyes caught my attention, they were a nostalgic bluebell color. She looked to me and her eyes seemed to fall, and Frisk was just confused, she let go of me and stood next to me. The new human girl spoke
"Hello again." her sad smile shine through "not that you remember." My eyes twisted confused, what did she mean. I had all my memories, and I had never met this human.
"What do you mean...?" Frisk asked cautiously. Her smile never returned to its previous state and only remained sad.
"What do I mean?" She looked up, looking to the light rocks on the ceiling of the underground, then she took a few steps towards me, and I returned with one back. No more than one single step, while Frisk retreated with a few more backwards. She caught up to me, took my hands, surprising me. Still, making no effort to move myself out of her way. "Sans... Spare me a trip please, take me to the hallway, the one for Judgements. You know..." She looked to Frisk who stood there with wide eyes. I didn't want to, but my hands tightened around hers and I teleported to Judgement Hall
Why did I take her?
Why did I seem to trust her so soon?!
I kept shouting at myself in my head as to why I even let her get near, let her hold my hands. She stood in front of me, her face emotionless.
"Do you know what I'm going to do?" She asked, letting go of my hands, and letting them lay loosely at her sides. I hesitated, but shook my head slowly, a smirk formed on her face. "There are two things I plan on doing before this day is over see," I rose a brow
"What would that be?"
"So you finally spoke, haha, it's really nice to hear your voice..." She took my face in her hands and my eyes widened. Whaaat was she doing?? She let go, and looked in my eyes "I can't." She smiled softly, looked away, but seemed to muster courage and determination. She soon leaned forward placing her lips softly on my teeth. In a kiss, my eyes couldn't possibly have been any more wider. I was shocked. Scared. Surprised. She pulled away and smiled so sadly it almost hurt to see.
"I'm sorry Sans. I just... I just wanted one final kiss, haha..." Tears were now forming in her eyes, "promise me. Please.... You will make your life with Frisk as fulfilling as you can! On the surface." Her lips twisted up, smiling, how could she smile...? She was planning... How did she know... Know me?
Slowly, a memory came back, and she was in it.
"Where were you?!" She cried, I didn't answer her as I turned around and walked towards the stairs where the small mirror was. I peered into it, seeing a long crack in my skull. It was strange. Everything had seemed surreal now, but this is the place I'd rather be.
"Don't let me wake up..." I grumbled into the mirror, she peered behind me her eyes widening a bit and she looked to the floor.
"Is this all a dream?" She asked quietly. I quickly turned around to face her, looking to the ground sadly, yet she was smiling. I chuckled, tears forming in my eyes.
Before I realized it, more of the memory had come back. Yet I still didn't know her. Her name or who she really was. It was all a jumble
"Yeah... Funny isn't it? Knowing that though... This place feels more real than the other one."
"The other place?"
"Just like this one. Heh. Almost. You're not there, Toriel is still trapped lonely in the ruins. I ruined Papyrus' chances with the one idol he looked up to..." She leaned forward and pressed her forehead to mine.
"What world do you want to be real?" She asked quietly, practically whispering to me. Looking up into her blue eyes, I gave an almost genuine smile. First one in what felt like forever.
"This one." She took one of my hands and intertwined her fingers with mine, her other hand repeating the process. We stood there silently for a minute,
"Then let it be." She whispered to me leaning back and smiling to me
Why is....? Just one memory... Why is it, my eyes teared up and she saw and her eyes widened, "sans?" She asked cautiously, and she took my hands again
Moving in a dancing motion, I quickly caught on and followed her lead quite well. We moved in unison to no music, that is till she quick turned some on very quietly. Then we began to step away, step back. One step closer, our faces barely an inch apart, step back, twirl her away, but bring her back, don't loose her touch. Spin around the room slowly with her, this is our own ball. This is our free-style. The way we please. Spin her close, step back, forward again. Let go of her hand step away and spin on our own. Pass her gently, turn quickly to face her once again. Take her hands. Pull her close, small steps together, moving on forward, lean down.
Press your teeth to her lips.
We've danced before..." I mumbled, and her eyes widened. She let go of my hands and stepped back. She looked to the tall golden windows.
"Yes. We have, but it was all a dream. You woke up, I did, she did." Her smile was small but she continued "I woke up in a hospital, apparently I was in a coma on the surface, explaining why I never woke up... Then I just couldn't forget. Couldn't leave you all down here. So I came back. For real. I'm going to free you all. Something Frisk shall never do," she cupped my face "since she has you." I remained silent the whole time and just watched her, who are you? Who are you?!
"Who... Are you...?" Her eyes widened but she recovered quickly and let go of my face
"It's best you don't know sans. Okay?" She then passed me, "just. Please. Be happy with Frisk. Forget me!" I grabbed her arm
"Please. Just tell me your name." She sighed sadly and hugged me, last time.
"Crystal." She then took off running through the hallway to the other side. The stupid thing being, I made no effort to move. To go after her. I was letting her run to her death, and I did nothing. I looked to my hands that were now shaking, I'm scared of loosing someone I had already long lost... That's stupid...
Forget it.... Forget her...
And all in a blur.
The barrier was shattered. Monsters left. I never left Frisk's side as we made a life above ground, together we were happy, mostly. Deep down I could never get the name Crystal out of my mind.
Happy.
Happy.
Keep convincing yourself you're happy.
Then you will believe you.
"Right Sans?"
