Skye's P.O.V

I finally chucked the last thing into my bag and levitated it down the hallway. Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny were alreay there standing grinning in my front room.

"Ready to go Skye?" Harry asked and I nodded.

"I can't believe we're going to America' Ginny squealed. Ron sighed dramatically but then joined the rest of us in grinning like maniacs. After the battle of Hogwarts, which had taken place a few months ago, we had decided to go on holiday to get away from it all, especially as we were all still reeling from the deaths of our friends. I mentally shook myself. This was going to be an awesome holiday, just the break we needed to get back on track with our lives.

We all grabbed each others hands, yelled goodbye to England and apparated. I had the horrible sensation of being squeezed through a rubber tube before collapsing into a field. The first thing I noticed was the heat, it must have been at least 35 degrees. I slung my jacket over my shoulder and the 5 of us made our way towards the house a few feet away, where we would be staying for the next couple of weeks.

It was huge, and seemed to be some sort of barn conversion. The rooms were light and airy, the sun filtering in through the large windows. We sunk into the sofas in the sitting room and sighed contentedly. After a while we went upstairs to check out the rooming situation. There were only two rooms so we split boys and girls and started to unpack our things. Ginny didn't stop gabbling the whole way through. Hermione rolled her eyes at me, but to be honest, we were both as happy and excited as Ginny.

After about ten minutes, the boys came in complaining about how long it took women to unpack. We sighed and told them to go outside and explore whilst we finished. The guys raced each other down stairs, acting like kids, hexing each other jovially in an attempt to get outside first. We laughed, finished putting our things into the draws and went down to the kitchen to make something to eat. When dinner was ready we called Harry and Ron, who were busy swooping over the empty field, which was behind the house, on their brooms. The spaghetti we'd made disappeared faster than Snape faced with shampoo and I suggested that we went out and had a quidditch game of two and two.

'Hermione can ref', I said and Hermione nodded thankfully. We played until the sun set, when we decided to go in, as Ginny was so tired that she almost fell off her broom. The day was perfect and I fell asleep grinning.
