Sky's P.O.V.
I looked at the pale woman in front of me and was shocked to see tears falling down her face. Percy was kneeling in front of her but she was looking steadily at me. I looked at Chiron, hoping he might give me a clue as to what was going on, but he just shook his head, confused. Really worried now, I asked 'What's wrong Mrs. Jackson?', as gently as I could. She looked at me and said something so quietly that I didn't hear what she said. 'Sorry, I can't hear you' I prompted kindly. Then she spoke again, louder this time. 'Skye, I'm your mother.'
My mind reeled. I couldn't take in what she had just said. Was this woman really my mother? I leant against the wall, breathing hard. True, I grew up with my dad before I moved to the orphanage and he didn't talk about my mum that much, but Sally Jackson was American and I was English. Yeah we had the same last name, but that could be a coincidence. I looked up at the others, whose faces all registered shock. I looked at Percy, who glared at the floor. He looked puzzled and slightly angry, although I couldn't blame him. He had just found out that he had a sister. I don't know why, but I felt like I was waiting for someone to jump up and shout NOT! We could laugh it off but my fears were confirmed when I looked at Chiron. His face was sombre and worried. I shook my head, overwhelmed. I needed to get outside. I ran out of the house and towards the woods, not caring whether there were monsters or not. When I was deep enough in that it was completely silent, I leant against a tree and cried. It wasn't that I was sad, I was just shocked and completely unprepared.
I don't know how long I sat there, but eventually I stood up and dried my face. I heard a rustle in the trees to my right and turned around, assuming that the others had come looking for me. 'Harry, Ginny?' I called. There was no reply. 'Ron, Hermione, is that you?' Silence. The trees rustled again and I heard a loud clicking sound that definately wasn't human.

Percy's P.O.V.
I stood in front of my mom, my emotions in turmoil. 'Percy?' she said tentatively. I didn't look up from the floor but she continued anyway. 'I'm sorry, I was going to tell you. I just didn't want you to find out this way.' Not sure how to respond, I looked at Hermione. 'Should we go after Skye?'
Hermione shook her head. 'I think Skye needs some time to process what she knows now.' I sighed and sat down opposite my mom. 'How come you have a daughter in England?' I asked, slightly more harshly than I intended.
Mom looked at me with tears in her eyes at my tone but explained anyway. 'When I was younger, I went to England on vacation. This was before I had to pull out of college to look after my father. I went with a few friends who had friends in England. One night we went to a party and' she hesitated, 'I got drunk, and one of the boys at the party was so nice'. Here she paused, gulping and trying to hold back more tears. After a few minutes she continued. 'Skye was an accident and I wasn't ready for a child. When she was born, I gave her to her father, who had miraculously stayed around, and moved back to America. I returned to college and one day I got an email from her father. His name was Alex Harper and he told me that he had fallen in love with me whilst I was in England. He said he wanted me to come back, but I couldn't because I was looking after my dad. I told him this and he replied that he understood and that it was probably best if we didn't talk much. The last email he sent me was a picture of the baby. It was a girl and he named her Skye. She would have been called Skye Harper, but he told me that he wanted to call her Jackson, after her mother. It became traditional that he would send me a picture of her on her birthday every year. But one day the pictures stopped.'
'He died' Ginny interrupted. 'Her father died in a car accident when she was thirteen. She moved into an orphanage until last year, when she brought her own house.' Ginny's voice was emotional but clipped, as though she was finding it hard to talk.
Mom shook her head, tears running freely down her cheecks again. I hated to see her like this and hugged her fiercly. 'It's ok' I comforted her. 'Skye's still here. You can make up with her.'
I now knew who Skye's parents were but I didn't feel angry. I realised that Skye was my sister and whatever mom had done in the past, family should stick together. I told mom this and she smiled. 'I love you Percy', she whispered in my ear.
Suddenly a scream tore through the calm air. 'Skye!' yelled Hermione and we ran out of the house, towards the forest where the sctream had come from.
