Skye's P.O.V.
'I'll miss you,' I sighed into Nico's chest as he wrapped his arms around me. After defeating Greyback and finishing the quest I had been able to spend two wonderful weeks with Nico, but all too soon school had come around and I had to return to England. I had begged for Nico to come with me, but apparently he was needed at camp and Chiron wouldn't let him go to England where he would be extremely unprotected and unable to call for help.
The others were giving us some time whilst we said goodbye but I knew that we would have to leave any minute now. Once we got home we would have a day to pack for hogwarts and hopefully recover from the change of timezones. I leant against Nico as he softly stroked my hair. The worst thing was that I was inflicting this upon myself. Technically I had finished school and if I really wanted to, I could stay in America with Nico. However it had always been my life's ambition to become a healer, and to do that I needed the appropriate N.E.W.T. qualifications.
'Skye, I need you to promise me something,' Nico said gently, bending down to look me in the eyes.
I nodded miserably and whispered, 'anything.'
'Remember me.' He said seriously, with a note of urgency in his voice. 'Never forget me, Never forget what we have and what we will have when we see each other again.'
I nodded again, desperately trying to hold back tears but it was in vain. As they slipped down my cheeks Nico took my face in both his hands and kissed me passionately. I kissed him back, clinging hard to his shirt, never wanting to let go. But eventually he pulled away and said, 'You should leave now.'
I gulped, said one last goodbye and went to rejoin Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny.
'Ready?' Hermione asked as she took my hand.
'Always.' I replied and the last I saw of Camp Half-blood was Nico's face before everything twisted into darkness and we reappeared in my living room.
'I'll see you in the morning,' I mumbled to the others. They were staying at my place overnight and so I escaped to my room as quickly as possible, just needing to be alone. I opened my trunk with the intention of finding some pyjamas but what I saw made me break down in fresh tears. Neatly folded on top of my clothes was Nico's death shroud, with a note pinned to it.
My Dear Skye,
If you ever feel unhappy or struggling then hold this and remind yourself of me, of what we sacrificed to be together and of my eternal love for you.
Nico.
I clung to the soft material and fell onto my bed, breathing in Nico's scent that still lingered on the shroud. That was the first night I cried myself to sleep.
4 Years Later.
'Congratulations Skye!' Yelled Arthur Weasley, joined by Molly and the rest of his family. I grinned like a mad thing and laughed along with the Weasley's, Harry and Hermione. I guess I should fill you in.
We went back to Hogwarts and completed our last year. I got all O's apart from one E but I was estatic. Of course Hermione got straight O's. I began my training to become a Healer and here I am now, a fully trained Healer about to start full time at St. Mungos. This was the reason for the Weasley's throwing me a surprise party. What else...
Oh yes, Harry and Ginny are engaged! It was so adorable, well according to Ginny anyway. About five minutes after Harry proposed she apparated home and ran through the house screaming. As I had been over talking to Hermione and Ron I had found out all about it first hand. I caught up with Harry later to congratulate him and he was practically glowing with happiness. Those two are so sweet and the wedding is in a couple of months.
