"Uhhhh okay" Amethyst replied unlocking her locker. She swung it open and purple folders and notebooks of different shades fell out along with papers from all earlier this year. "Oh whoops" she said and picked them up and just stuffed them back in there. I cringed at this. All my stuff was color coded and I did the math for exactly how many pencils I would need to last the whole year. Amethyst unloaded a few things from her back pack and kept some stuff still in there. Then she swung the bag on to her shoulders and turned to me. "Why don't you leave your bag in there?" I asked, pointing to her locker. "Oh nobody does" she said. "Easier this way. Now where's your locker?"

I looked down at a sheet of paper that read 7152, coincidently my birthday (July 15, 2002).

AUTHOR'S NOTE: this story takes place only a year in the future just because I really wanted her birthday to be 7 15 2 but them to be freshman. So yea. But same month as currently and stuff.

I flipped the paper for Amthyst to see. "Oh" she said and walked to the opposite end of the small 'hallway.' My locker was apparently five feet a way from her's. "Here you are" she said. "Ha thanks" i said while hanging up my coat and lunch box. "I guess I'll take my whole bag because I don't know what I'll need....and you recommend it" I stated. "First class?" Amethyst asked. I pulled out my schedule. "Uh.... American Authors.....room....224?" I told her. "Follow me" she said as she took me to another floor and dropped me off in a room. "I'll come back here after this hour to help you find your next class" amethyst offered. "Oh thanks" I said but she had darted off. I walked into the class and chose a seat in the back.

Shortly, the class was over as I was 10 minutes late. My reasonable excuse was excepted. I was last out of the class and saw amethyst talking to a few students until she turned to me. "Where to next" she asked. "Uh" I said taking the paper out again. "Advanced Geometry room 331" "you're a nerd, huh?" Amethyst asked. "Advanced geometry" she mumbled to herself and giggled. We walked up stairs and to my room as she dropped me off again.

After that class she picked me up again. "Biology room.....404" I said when I saw her right away. She was tapping away on her phone. "Hey same class as me! Here, getting through this busy hallway is going to be hard." She said handing me her hand. She had big strong hands compared to my light, fragile, small ones. I placed my palm into hers and wrapped my fingers around her hand. She pulled me through the crowd. We were both short so it felt like walking through a corn maze or a field of tall grass. Amethyst had a tight grip on my hand, dragging me every which way.

I took this time to study her outfit. Purple. She must be obsessed with the color. She wore a top that slid off her shoulders that was the color of her grey-lavender hair. It gathered and cut off near her Belly button. Her jeans were light blue with a rip on one knee and folded up at the bottom. Short people problems. She also wore big deep purple hoop earrings and matching in color sandals.

She still held onto my hand as we walked into the class. She brought me to the teacher's desk and looked down at our intertwined fingers. She noticed this and pulled away. "Hello, I am Peridot Diamond." I said to the teacher. "I'm new." "I was informed I'd get a new student" she said. She still kept her eyes on a paper on her desk. "There" she said pointing to a seat across the room, still not looking up. I assumed she meant to sit there. So I did. The class had tables instead of desks. My table was across from Amethyt's, in the back of the room. She sat in a table with only one other guy, although there were seats for four. The two didn't seem to be on good terms. At my table sat three girls who seemed to be friends. They ignored me. I questioned the teacher. I was told she didn't talk much and her name was Miss. Alexandrite. She was young, around 30, and even taller than my mothers! She was probably 6' 5". I glanced at Amethysts who seemed to be taking a nap. But class had just started.
