Peridot' POV
Hmmmm....she's gone again. Maybe she's busy. So I paused the music. When would she back? I wanted to know her....maybe...maybe I could finally get a friend!.. Maybe I should go over there. No. No. I'm too awkward, I can't. I tried to remember her in my mind as I slouched down in my desk chair. I started to spin the chair around as I recalled her appearance. Engraved in my memory was the excited, surprised smile she gave, because, you know we couldn't hear each other because she didn't open her window. Her hair was straight and a grey lavender colored. One eye covered with bangs, very wispy hair. She was definetly short but I still wasn't sure exactly of her height. She was chubby in a cute hot way. Wait what? Her skin was a mocha-y color with freckles dotted across her face, and, from what I could see, her arms. Perhaps, like me, these freckles were all over her body? I lifted my shirt up slightly to see all the freckles on non-toned stomach I had. I got up from my chair and headed down the stairs.
Obviously I tripped a few times, being myself. Lapis sat at the dining room table eating her dinner. My family didn't usually eat dinner together, every man for himself, or in my entire family's case: herself. "Hey, Peridot, wanna join me?" I didn't answer, I just pulled the strings on my hoodie. I poured some Frosted Flakes as my meal. Milk first, then cereal. It was a weird habit. I sat across from Lapis at the table. "So you decided to join me?" "Meh" I crunched my cereal, loudly.
Lapis was my older sister by two years. She was the adopted daughter of my two mother's. Like Jasper, my other sister, who was also adopted. But unlike me. That's another story. She was born the daughter of a Native American couple, who for some reason, couldn't keep her. She had glowing light brown skin and dyed dark cobalt grey-blue hair. Her favorite color. She was obsessed with it. She was 5'5", average, and really small and bony, I guess it helped for getting through the water faster, and floating.
I finished my cereal and rinsed the bowl out. Usually after dinner I just hung out in my room doing what ever. So that's what I did. Opening my bedroom door I thought: "pajama time!" After pulling my drawer open I searched through it finding a tanktop and shorts, what I mainly wore to bed. I quick changed, I stood wearing a pale yellow tanktop that cut off slightly before the belly button and white shorts with green alien heads on them (my favorite). Pajamas were the one time I could wear what ever was comfortable. I was always hot so I liked to wear shorts and crop tops when ever I could with out being self conscious. I then turned to walk towards my bed but I saw something in the corner of my eye. My neighbor, lavender haired girl, was waving her arms frantically to get my attention. Backing up, I looked at her. I smiled and sat my window seat. She held up paper. In thick, purple sharpie it read: "hi!" Snatching the paper I had written earlier, I held it up. "Oh" she mouthed to be. She wrote on another paper: "Amethyst Quartz, what bout u? With a smiley face at the end" "Peridot" I wrote and showed. She gave me the hand signal to say "continue." I wrote my last name down and showed her: Diamond. "Cool" was her response. "So you like Marina?" I wrote. Amethyst searched around her room quick. For what? She shrugged her shoulders at me. I was confused. Amethyst opened up her window and climbed through. She then proceeded to sit on the roof below her window. She signaled me to do the same. I opened the window. The wind blew and the moon was slowly making its way into the sky more. I carefully walked out and sat on the roof below my window. I hugged my knees close to my chest and she sat with her legs crossed.
Amethyst wore royal purple sweat pants and white tanktop. "Well....uh, Hi!" I said sheepishly breaking the awkward silence.
