I didn't got to school the next day. Lapis usually gets me up if I'm not up in time. But she didn't today, she left with out me. So I stayed. It was reasonable considering what I had been through last evening.

"Percy" I read to myself. Heh like Percy from Camp Pining Hearts. Some of the best characters are named Percy. I had been calming myself down by rereading the Heroes of Olympus series the entire day with music blaring in the back. The current song was Hair by Little Mix. As always, I was interrupted. It was a tapping on glass sound. I got up to investigate and saw outside my window Amethyst knelt. I didn't think she'd ever want to see my stupid face again after how I offended her immensely. I opened the window up slowly with suspicion in mind: "What do you wa-" Once the window was open enough I was tackled with a bear hug. "Where WERE you?" She said with concern in her eyes but a smile on her face in regards to seeing me. "Here. I was only gone for one da-" I said weakly. "Why?" She asked. "Reasons... But I thought you wouldn't want to see my idiotic self again." "What?" She said getting off of me. "I called you fat basically." I announced. "But I mean it's true. It doesn't bother me now, you were right." She confessed looking down at her torso. "No, no I wasn't." I said confidently and clearly. Her eyes widened, waiting to hear the words I was about to say. "Amethyst you're so beautiful. Your stomach is not fat. It's smooth and adorable." I said saying the pure truth and I tickled her stomach. She giggled in response. "Your a girl the gods of Ancient Greece would have fought over." I protested while pointing to my book series. "Any guy that gets your heart would be the luckiest." I waited for a response. She looked at me with those wide brown chocolate eyes until she broke the silence with: "Hahahahahahahahahahahahah!" Amethyst snorted while rolling on to her back and clutching her stomach. "Oh god." I said falling on my back. I've embarrassed my self even further. "Hahah you-you think I like boys? Hahaha!" She spat out. I shot up and quickly responded. "Wait what?" "Bro, P-Dot. I'm gay as hell. I'm lesbian." "Wait really?" I questioned to myself over her cackling putting my index finger to my mouth.

"Why'd you think I had a giant rainbow banner hanging in my room?"

"I thought it was representing the different froot from the FROOT album...." I said meekly.

A laughter erupted from her and continued for several minutes until I decided to join in with a soft laugh that grew bigger, laughing at my enormous mistake. Then I began to wheeze. "Whoa you okay there?" Amethyst asked kindly and I nodded back. "You're a riot, Peri." Amethyst announced out of nowhere. "Uh thank you." "Let's go to my house." She said climbing through the window.

As I was about to get into Amethyst's room, she held out her hand to say 'need help' and I politely took it as she yanked me through. When I got in, I took note of the rainbow banner in her room that was on the wall opposite of her bed. "You know there's a lesbian flag right? Why don't you have that?" I wondered. "Eh, I like this one better, plus more people know what it means." She said smoothing it out. "C'mon, I'll give you the tour."

As we walked into the hall I remembered how there were seven doors on this level. "Hey, Amethyst? Why do you have so many rooms?" I asked aloud from behind her. "Big, family. Here I'll show you who's is who's." At that moment it occurred to me, I had no idea what kind of family she had. Was it a nuclear family? Did she have two parents? Were they of different genders? The only thing I was aware of is that she had a little brother. "So obviously that's my room." She said pointing to the door we had previously come out of, as she walked straight down the hallway. "Bathroom number one. Steven's room, then here at the end head of the hallway is Rose's room." She said pressing her hand gently against it. "Only Steven can get in there because Rose left him the only key." I didn't know who Rose is, but apparently she is gone.... somewhere. We walked to the other side of the hallway and she continued. "Then this is Pearl's room." She said with a groan. It occurred to me I had heard this ladies's voice before when I had exited her house after accidentally sleeping over. "Then another bathrooooom, then Garnet's!" Amethyst finished as she headed down the staircase. As we reached the last step the front door clicked open and a boy of around 8 walked through the door. I assumed he was the boy Amethyst had referred to as Steven. He set down a backpack shaped as a cheeseburger and looked up to Amethyst who jumped over the last step and ran to him. "Ste-man! What's up!?" She shouted, tackling him into a bear hug that was similar to the one she gave me. Did she greet everyone like this? "Haha Amethyst!" He said returning the hug. I waited patiently and awkwardly for it to end with one of my hands holding my other arm. As they pulled apart Amethyst looked over to me and introduced me: "Steven this is my Peridot." I started blushing like crazy as my heart began to pound. "I mean my FRIEND Peridot." She announced correcting herself, making my heart sink. "Hello!" The young boy said. I held out my hand for a shake but he slapped it instead and then slapped the back of our hands together and then the palms again, then he bounced away. I stared at where he once stood for a second, questioning what just happened. Amethyst giggled for a second bringing me back to reality. "How old is he?" I asked. "Steven? He's 13." This perplexed me, the juvenile looked so young but he did appear to be mature in some areas. "So um here is the kitchen." She said pointing to past the staircase. The layout was open, there was no doorway to go through from the foryer and staircase into the kitchen. As we walked in, it was very white, modern, and contemporary. In the middle was built and island with five stools encircling it and a sink on the side that was next to the rest of the counters. Next to the staircase near the edge of the room was a booth built into the corner with a table. "And there's a bathroom in there too." Amethyst quickly put in there while pointing to a small door that lead inside of the staircase. Past the kitchen we walked into a very green living room. By green I mean lots of plants. It was like a green house but with wicker furniture of robust quality. And in the same room on the opposite end, there were less windows and it was dimer, a suitable tv room. And lastly walking through a last entrance lead to a very long dinning room that could seat a dozen people. The dining room lead all the way back to the front of the house, to another doorway just before the stair case on the other side of the kitchen. "And that's basically it..." Amethyst said scratching the back of her neck. "Very unenclosed and palatial." I answered. "Um, what do you want to do now?" She asked. "Do you have paper and pencils?" I asked. "Uh yeah around here somewhere..." Amethyst said looking around the kitchen.

"Wait no! You moved! Keep your position Amy!" I said laughing while drawing her. "Amy?!?" She said now laughing hysterically. "Since when do you come up with nicknames?!" "Just hold still!" I yelled while giggling with no control. Amethyst fell off of the chair she sat in while clenching her stomach. This made me start snorting and wheezing beyond what I was used to. The two of us had tried to draw each other. The one she drew of me turned out quite well but slightly crude. It looked like me but a little over exaggerated. "Okay you done?" She asked behind the chuckles. "Yeah one more thing." I said while adding some bigger boobs to her for humor. I spun the paper around and she burst into more giggles. "Why are my tits so big?" "I don't know I thought it'd be funny!" I responded. She then began to look down at her chest and squished her chest together to make them appear bigger. "Hah wait maybe they are that big...?" She said in serious thought, quickly ceasing her laughter. My laughter also stopped as I watch her. I was memorized by it and felt my heart heat up again. She continued to do it and I didn't know why but I just was in a daze until I heard a yelling from down stairs. "Amethyst??? Steven??? We're home!" A familiar voice shouted. "Ah." Amethyst said finishing what she was doing and said: "c'mon." I followed her out of her room and down the stairs. At the bottom stood a lady with strawberry blonde hair and a lean body. She wore a light blue peplum top and rolled up khakis with flats the same color as her shirt. The lady was taller than Amethyst and I, and even Lapis. If I had to guess I'd say around 5'7". Another lady stood quiet but with a smile behind the first, placing a brief case down. This lady would be around 5'11" wearing black jeans and a maroon blouse. The taller lady walked past us on the staircase and said in a monotone voice "hello, Amethyst! And Peridot." She said my name with a nod but I marveled how she knew it. The other lady looked up the stairs and to my eyes and gave a half smile. "Ahh you just be Peridot." She finally said. "Amethyst has told me about you!" My pondering came to an end as I began to blush after it was revealed. "Yes." I confessed. "That is I." "Well, Peridot would you like to stay for dinner?" "Um yes I'd be up for that Ms-?" "Pearl." "Thank you Ms. Pearl." Pearl walked away into the living room and I turned to Amethyst. "Is that your mother?" "OH GOD NO!" She responded throwing her head back and finishing walking down the stairs. "Was she your mom then?" I said pointing back up the stairs while following her down. "No that's Garnet." "Well then....who's your mom." "Rose. Rose is my adoptive mom. She's dead." "Oh, I'm sorry I didn't realize." "It's all good. She adopted me when I was only one but died when I was three during Steven's birth. But we were awfully close for those two years...." Her voice said trailing off. "And she was only 18 when she died... This year in August she would have been 31..." I took out my phone to see the time. 6:30. "What time do you guys usually dine at?" I asked "around 7:00-7:30. Pearl should be starting dinner soon." "Ah." After that the lady I now knew as Garnet walked down the stairs in less professional clothes. She now wore maroon sweatpants with a black t-shirt. My head spun with her movement as she walked by. Very closely, I noticed her eyes. One was a deep russet color, the other a sapphire blue. "You've got a very...unique family, Amethyst." I stated while whipping my head towards her. "That I do." She said with a smile.
