My eyes slowly blinked open as the sun blinded me through the window. In front of me stared her eyes. Large and tootsie brown. Swirls of blue with long black lashes. Bare with no liner or a color tint of any sort. Wide eyed. Beautiful. My eyes and heart began to get lost in the moment. I squinted at her as she shot a smile at me. "Have you been staring at me this whole morning?" I asked with a glare and trying to adjust my eyes. I lyed on my side as Amethyst did, facing me. I swung an arm over to her night stand and felt around for my glasses. As I felt them, I picked them up and slid them on. I blinked my eyes to readjust. As they focused, I saw Amethyst get up from her bed and walk out of the room. A response to my question was never returned. Through the blinds of the window across from me, light shone in. I covered my eyes with my hand as I unplugged my phone from its charger. It still baffled me why Amethyst had joined me in her bed but I assumed it was because she was uncomfortable on the scratchy, carpeted, floor. I sat up in the bed with my legs hanging off the side, kicking them lightly because they hovered a few inches above the ground. I heard the waters powerful pressure from the bathroom shower, turn on. Someone ought to be taking a shower, in all likely hood, it was probably Amethyst. I rubbed my eyes, and then below them, to get rid of the crusty mascara that had not come off the night before.

I snatched a scruntchie from the table and tilted my head down. Then I gathered all my hair together and put it into a somewhat lose bun and pulled out my baby hairs. Standing up, I struggled to reach the mirror with out falling. Blinking my eyes again, I noted how I needed to get my roots bleached again. The brown hair of mine was probably and inch long, far too long for my likings. My mom would always tell me "if you keep bleaching your hair it will become unhealthy." But what does she know her hair is a natural platinum. I wanted mine that desired bottle blonde color.

Just as I had hung up the phone from calling the hair salon to make an appointment, Amethyst had walked into her room, with a towel bundled around her head and another covering her body. I sat up in her bed and peered past my glasses to watch her sashay into the room. "I'm gonna get dressed P-Dot, you can either stay and enjoy the show, or go get ready in the bathroom." Amethyst said to stop my gawking. At that note, I snatched my bag up and quickly turned two corners into the bathroom. After she said that, I was beginning to think she knew I had a crush on her. But how? I had just realized this myself. Was I too open, too obvious? Breathing slowly, I decided I would stay more reserved and to myself from now on.

As I had just finished getting dressed, I recognized the sound of knocking at the bathroom door. I fished pulling my shirt over my head and opened the door. Amethyst smiled to me and asked: "hey can I get ready in here?" I nodded my head and noticed her grey-lavender hair was still dripping onto her. It was parted down the middle and plastered to her head and face. Water slowly dropped onto her croptop that was the same color of her hair. She shimmied in her jeans to pull them up: grey with tears and mid-waisted. Her stomach was out; the stomach I complimented the day before. She plugged in a hair dryer and turned it to high. Her eyes batted and her hair blew. While she did this, I began to pull the top of my hair into a pony tail as I usually did.

The clocked showed 7:00 and I ran to my house to grab my pack back. I opened the front door and snuck my hand in and grabbed it. At that time Lapis walked out: her hair was a mess and bag were clear under her eyes. Lapis walked expressionless and past me to the bus. I glanced at Amethyst walk out of her door, until I felt a pressure on my shoulder. Jasper stood tall next to me, and smirked: "what'd you do with your girlfriend last night?" She asked. "N-nothing." I stuttered quickly. "Mhm, have fun at school kido." "As if that's possible." I responded not turning around and walking towards the bus.

It was third hour and the dinging sound of the announcements came on. The principal stated some news until she introduced a new voice. Sardonyx, our volleyball coach spoke on the intercom: "I am pleased to announce 2017's Junior Varsity team right now! Congratulations to: Sphene Anderson, Mystic Beryl, Peridot Diamond..." Once I heard my name I made a slight sqeal in the middle of class. As the names continued I heard "Amethyst Quartz" get called and got even pleased than I had when my name was called. Together, we would dominate the court.

As I got home, ready to announce the good news to my family on how I made the team, I saw my two mothers and Jasper sitting at the dinning room table at one end and Lazuli staying away from them by sitting at the opposite end. They seemed to be all looking at a piece of paper that lay in the middle of the trio at the one end of the table. Lazuli tilted back in the wooden chair with her arms crossed, glaring at me as I trudged by. Right before I was about to exit the room into the kitchen, Yatasha Diamond said to me: "Peridot F. Diamond, please join us." At her request, or I should say: demand, I made a pivot to head back into the middle of the room. I took a seat next to Yatasha, and awaited what they had to say.

"Peridot, we are deciding what items in our household Blu and I will each own because, because we're getting divorced." Yatasha said with a straight face and a glance at my other mother. I smacked my head on the table and kept it there as they continued to talk to me. "Hey watch it you're going to break something." Lapis said to me. "My head will not break because of this table Lazuli." I responded. Lapis puffed air out of her lips and shot back with: "I wasn't worried about your head, I was worried about the table, Blu and I claimed it." With that, I rolled my eyes and groaned. Lapis really did hate me.

"Off of what Lapis said..." My mother announced, "we must decide which parent of yours you will live with..."

"Neither of them want you..." Lapis muttered. I glared my eyes over to her with my forehead still pressed against the table. "Lapis will be living with me." Blu said, "and Jasper with Yatasha."

"But she's in college..." I said bringing my head up while trying to wipe away a tear with no one noticing. "Yes, but I still must pay for her college education." Yatasha said. "Well I can't take Peridot. I've already got Lazuli Lapis to pay for. I'll have to pay for her education and life." Blu said as Lazuli slumped in her chair further. "I'm not gonna take her!" "Well I can't!"
