After Amanda had finished getting ready, she made her way back downstairs. Her father was sitting on the couch reading the newspaper. She crawls up onto the sofa sitting next to him while they waited. Not long after, Amanda hears the knock at the door. She looks up at her father. "They're here." She gets up feeling a bit anxious to see who her father had invited over. She follows David to the door and looks a bit disappointed when she saw who was standing in front of her.
Amanda knew exactly who the two were. Everybody did. Victoria Grayson and her son Daniel. Amanda suddenly felt very confused why her father would be inviting them over. She did not like Victoria and liked her son even less. Her father had told her they should try to be nice and get along with everyone. But with Daniel it was difficult.
"Victoria, come on in." Her father said. The woman stepped in giving David a small smile but seemed to have ignored Amanda. "Hello Amanda." She heard Daniel say in a surprisingly shy voice." Amanda looked at him surprised he even spoke to her. "Hello Daniel."
Amanda and Daniel hung out in the living room while David and Victoria were in the kitchen finishing getting the meal set up. "Do you think they like each other?" Daniel asked questioningly to break the silence. Amanda looks over at him. "I hope not." She said absentmindedly being completely honest. "Why not?" Daniel said looking over at her. "Because then I would have to live with you twenty four seven." Amanda answered simply with a small smirk. Daniel rolled his eyes and was about to make a remark back when Victoria came into the living room. She gave Amanda a glare obviously having heard what she said. "Dinner's ready you two." Amanda and Daniel got up and followed her into the kitchen.
After dinner, Victoria and Daniel left. David finished cleaning up the table then turned to his daughter. "Why don't we get you ready for bed and we can have a movie night?" He said. Amanda smiled. "I would really like that." She hesitates a bit. "Daddy. Do you like Victoria?" David looks over at her. "Of course I do.. Come on kiddo." Amanda stays quiet a few minutes then follows him upstairs so she could get ready. "What movie are we going to watch?" He asked hoping to distract her. "The Little Mermaid." She smiled going to get her pajamas. David left so Amanda could get ready.
After the movie had finished, David tucked his daughter in then went downstairs to watch the news. As he was about to sit down he heard a knock at the door. He goes to open it surprised to see Victoria. "Victoria. Is everything alright? Come in.." He says quietly. Once Victoria walked inside, David shut the door quietly. "No. I'm not sure." She said looking at David. She takes a deep breath. "Conrad found out about us. We had an argument. I would've brought Daniel with me but I didn't want to wake him up and worry him."
"Of course. You're welcome to stay.." He said. Noticing fear for the first time in Victoria, David slowly wraps his arms around her pulling her close.
Hearing the knock at the door, Amanda slowly sneaks out of her bedroom and stops at the top of the steps to see Victoria and David. Victoria glances sideways as she hugs David and sees Amanda watching them. She gives a small smirk before Amanda quickly rushes off back to her bedroom. She crawls back in bed and pretends to be asleep in case her father came to check on her. She didn't want him to be with Victoria. She didn't like her and Victoria didn't like Amanda. Amanda sighed a little and closed her eyes finally falling asleep unaware that Victoria never went home.
