Though it had been some time since Amanda had been back to the place, South Hampton seemed very familiar upon her arrival. It was the only place she would always call home. But thanks to Victoria, that wasn't possible. She had to escape to get out of her grasp. She could only hope now that her father had come to his senses about ditching the woman.
Amanda knew she was always going to return at some point. She needed to get revenge on the woman that ruined her life. But something else also stopped her. Made her return. She had heard word through the grapevine, her uncle, that her father had managed to get sick. And he had hoped that with her return, he would decide to fight to get better. Upon hearing the phone call, Amanda took a deep breath and closed her eyes. She knew it was something bad when her uncle called her. She had tracked him down some time ago and had given her a number to give her any updates and to only call for emergencies.
Of course, Amanda knew she would be safe to sneak in the hospital to see her father. Nobody had seen her since she was little. She had changed her looks so she wouldn't be easily recognized. Her uncle was already there. He had tried many times to explain things to David that Amanda was still around. But David had seemed to given up hope that Amanda was possibly still alive. He had wanted to prepare David for when Amanda did come so she wouldn't freak him out when she arrived.
When Amanda entered the hospital, she sent a text to Bill to let him know she was going to be there shortly. When she arrived at her dad's room, she knocked at the door. When she hears Bill's quiet voice telling her to come in, she quietly opened the door and smiled a little seeing her dad, though this wasn't quite the reunion she had wanted. She should have came home sooner, to spend more time with him. She took a deep breath. "Dad.." Bill looked at the two of them and left the room to give them time to chat.
Though David wasn't really believing his brother that Amanda was still around, he didn't think he'd be able to realize who she was when she had come back. But now that he saw her, he knew. He smiled a little. "Amanda.." He said quietly. She quickly rushed over to him gently wrapping her arms around him giving him a hug.
"I'm sorry.." She whispered. "It's not your fault Amanda. Bill explained everything. And I'm glad he was able to take care of you for awhile. I thought I had it all planned out with Victoria. It was my fault. I should have told you of the plan I had. But I was worried somehow Victoria would figure it out. Victoria and I haven't seen each other since that week you left. I had a plan of my own to get rid of her..." He began to explain in a rushed tone.
Amanda shook her head. "I'm just glad you seem to be doing well." She said pulling away and grabbing a chair to sit down. "Bill told me hoping it would get me the urge to fight harder. I almost didn't. I was certain you were... But I knew I had to see for myself. Or if you'd even show up.." He shrugged a little.
Amanda took a deep breath. "I've always planned on coming back here. But possibly not for the reason you think. I have a set plan to take the bitch down myself.." David sighed a little. "Amanda... Everything is done and over with now. Please promise me you won't do anything rash.. You can't let revenge consume you..." Amanda bit her lip saying nothing. She couldn't promise anything when it came to Victoria.
After Amanda had finished visiting with her father, she headed back to the old beach house to get some rest. Nobody else had known she was back yet. And Amanda needed it to be that way for what she had planned. She couldn't let anyone ruin this.
After she had some rest, Amanda made her way back to the hospital. But when she had gotten there, she narrowed her eyes stopping dead still as she heard two other voices. One of them was Victoria's. What the hell? Her dad said they hadn't spoke in fourteen years. What was she doing here? The other voice, however, she did not recognize.
"Of course this is your daughter David." Victoria said in a laughing tone. "I know you haven't seen her in some time. But I was certain you'd recognize her." Little had Victoria and Emily known, their plan would fail, as Bill thankfully had already been one step ahead of them.
"No. I'm sorry... I'd like to remember.. But I can't." David said playing the memory fail card. Amanda took a deep breath. She was curious as to see who this woman who was claiming to be her. "Now please leave Victoria..." She heard her father say in a cool voice. Oh good. So maybe Victoria was trying to get back into his good graces by claiming she had found his daughter. Obviously her dad was too smart to buy it. Amanda rounded the corner and gave out a fake smile. "I'm Mr. Clarke's therapist. I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you two to leave..."
Amanda eyed the brunette claiming to be her suspiciously. It had been since she was ten since she had seen the girl. Except for her height, the girl's features hadn't changed much and she knew exactly who the woman before her was. Emily Thorne. What was she doing under Victoria's watch? Didn't she hear the tales Amanda had told her about the woman?
Victoria rolled her eyes at Amanda and motioned for the fake Amanda to follow her out of the room. Amanda glanced around the corner to make sure they were gone before closing the door for privacy and turned back to look at her dad.
"Who the hell was that?" She asked. David shook his head. "Honestly. I have no idea. I have never seen her before in my life. It was simply Victoria trying to be Victoria. But Amanda . I hope you realize I meant what I said..." He stated right away. "I know.. I believe you.." She takes a deep breath. "I have seen the woman before.. I just.. Don't understand why she is deciding to be chummy with Victoria..."
With David's confused look, Amanda explained to him about the orphanage and meeting Emily and her promise to get her out of the orphanage. Amanda suddenly realized why Emily was here. "I never came back for her like I said I would.. Dad. Whatever you do, please be careful around the woman. If she really is back for me. And working with Victoria..." David placed his hand over his daughter's. "I'm always careful Amanda." He smiled looking over at her. "And I'm so glad to have you back." He said quietly. Amanda smiled at her father. "You have no idea..."
