The past couple of weeks, it seemed Daniel had been extremely busy. Which gave Amanda quite a bit of free time. Not having visited with her childhood friend Jack in a while, Amanda decided to head to the Stowaway where he worked.
As she walked inside, she turned her head towards the direction of the bar and gave him a small smile as he greeted her. "Emily hey. How've you been? Have a seat." Amanda walked over and sat down on one of the empty booths. "It's been going alright. Better than I thought expected. How are you?.."
"Oh. It's been the usual I suppose. Friday and Saturday nights keep me pretty busy. But otherwise it's fairly slow. What about you?" He asks looking over at Amanda.
She gave a small shrug. "Oh. Same old same old. Daniel has been keeping busy with work so I've had a lot of free time.." She was about to continue on when she heard the door to the Stowaway open looking shocked to see Emiiy. She hadn't seen her in a long time. She didn't like the fact that she seemed to be laying low. As if she was biding her time.
"Jack hey you." She said with a flirtatious smile. She walked over to him wrapping his arms around him. Amanda raises her eye slightly confused and curious as to what exactly it was Emily was up to.
"I came here to remind you about tonight." Emily smirked eyeing Amanda from the corner of her eye knowing full well it would bug her. "Tonight?" Jack cleared his throat a little. "Yeah. Amanda and I are going out on a date." He smiled. Amanda stared at them quite speechless for awhile.
"I'm sorry. Where are my manners. Um. Congratulations." She said giving them a bit of an awkward smile. Though she knew Jack quite well, he obviously didn't believe he knew her. She took a deep breath giving a small glare at Emily. She had to warn Jack to warn him about Emily. But she couldn't.
"Can I have a word with you?" Amanda hissed at Emily. Emily smirked a little. It was just the reaction she wanted to see. Emily excused herself from Jack leaving him confused before she followed Amanda outside.
Amanda quickly turned whipping around to face the woman and gripped her arm. "Let go of me!" She spat at her and loosened her grip. "What the hell are you doing here Emily?" Amanda asked glaring at her.
"I came to see you silly.." Emily rolled her eyes. "No. I mean what are you doing here.. With Jack? Look. I know I broke my promise and I shouldn't of done that. I'm sorry. I know you want to hurt me.. But please.. Please don't put Jack in the middle of this..." Amanda begged. Emily was about to retort a comment back to her when she heard the sound of Amanda's cell phone going off.
She looked down to see her uncle's number. Her heart pounded fast. He never called her. It was usually David. "Is everything okay? You look like you've just seen a ghost.." Emily asked instead as Amanda went pale. She held up her hand to silence Emily.
"Oh my god!" Emily looked at Amanda with genuine concern. She gripped her old friend's arm as Amanda hung up. "Hey. Talk to me. What is it?" Amanda looked up looking almost as if she's ready to cry. "It's dad. He's been brought back to the hospital." Suddenly she felt light headed from everything and Emily quickly gripped her to keep her from falling over on her face.
"Is everything alright here?" Jack asked quickly rushing over to help Emily with Amanda. Emily glances over at him. "She needs to get to the hospital.. Her dad..." Was all Emily said. Jack nodded. "Of course let me help..." Emily kept a tight grip on Amanda and Jack opened the door for her so she could get Amanda in the back seat of the car. "Did you need me with?" Jack asked looking at Emily.
"No. We will be alright. But I need to get her there.." Jack nodded and gave Emily a quick kiss. "Let me know how things are." Amanda curled up in the back seat in a daze as she waited for Emily to get in.
Once she arrived at the hospital, she was somewhat of her old self. She glances over at Emily in the front seat. "Thanks.." She muttered. "Did you need me to come in?" Emily asked worried. "No. I'll be fine. I'll call for updates." Emily knew there was no sense for arguing. She watched Amanda get out of the car and sprint into the hospital.
"Emily hey.." Bill said as she rounded the corner to the waiting room. She was so glad that he had remembered to use her fake name in public. She wrapped her arms around him. "How is he doing?" She asked pulling away after awhile. "The nurses are still working on him..."
"I should have been there.." She stated. "I shouldn't have ever run away...." He sighed a little. "Emily..." Just as he was about to say something to her, the nurse came out to talk to them.
"Let me do it." Amanda said quickly when they told him the news. "It would be better if it was from family..." The nurse said not very sympathetically. She turned to Bill. "You're his brother right?" Bill took a deep breath and looked at Amanda. He knew she was going to be the one who would want to help her father. But as long as he was there and they knew he was relative and didn't know who she really was, they weren't going to even give her a second thought. "I am. But I can't. Bill said coming up with an excuse as to why he couldn't. The nurse raised her eye slightly. "Alright. If you wish. Right this way ma'am."
Amanda took a deep breath and mouthed a thank you to Bill and followed the nurse to the lab so she could get an example of her blood.
"Are you sure of this?" Victoria asked as she heard her phone going off and answered it. Little had Amanda known that it was the same nurse who had worked with Victoria to make it possible to place Amanda in the institution.
"Thank you for the update.." Victoria said hanging up. She gave a small smirk to herself. Amanda was back. The same bitch who tried to drown her and was the reason for her and David's split up. To her advantage, Amanda didn't know Victoria knew. And it gave her time to do something. And she knew exactly what she was going to do.
