You might not be mine,
But I cannot help it but everything I see, hear and smell reminds me of you.
The school bus reminds me of you,
Because it was the first place I talked to you.
The school reminds me of you, especially,
Because it was the place we first met,
The place where we showed off our relationship publicly,
The place where we began flirting,
The place where we sat in the same seat.
Valentine's Day reminds me of you.
It was the day you asked me to dance and we blushed the entire time.
America reminds me of you.
It is your entire identity.
The Collins French Dictionaries remind me ofyou.
It has most of your name on it.
Sour cream and onion chips remind me of you.
It is your favourite kind.
Sketchbooks remind me of you,
When you would show me your deepest secrets and your most treasured doodles.
My red ribbon reminds of you,
Because you said it made me look "cute".
Black dresses remind me of you.
Because you said I never looked so beautiful.
When I sniff in a strong cologne whiff,
It reminds me how I always clung onto you and breathe in your aroma.
Romantic movies and love novels remind me of you.
It takes me back in time when you were mine,
When you belonged to me,
When you made me believe we belonged together.
...But not anymore.
Though all these things remind me of you,
Does anything remind you of me?
