Detention

I walked into the school building, only to be insulted once again for my choice of dress and persona.

"Emo."

"Bitch."

"Loser."

I ignored it all and walked to my locker only to be tripped.

"Fag."

"Cunt."

"Cutter."

Hey,at least they had one of those names right.

I rolled my eyes and picked up all the books that had been knocked to the floor.

"You need help?" I heard come from the direction opposite the one I was facing.

Thinking it was all someone's idea of a joke; I ignored the voice and continued to pick up the papers that lay scattered in the hallway.

"Hello?" the person persisted.

"No," I snapped, "No I don't want the help of someone who just wants to tease and prod and be a horrible person. I don't want your help and I don't need you to make my life a living hell."

Finally, I grabbed the last of the fallen papers and stood, storming off down the hall and to my homeroom.

I sat down in a huff and pulled my hood over my head.

Normally, I just ignored everyone and waited until I got home and was alone with my blades to take out as much of the frustration as I needed, but today was the last straw.

It made me feel a little better that I had finally stood up for myself.

The other kids in the class started to trickle in and take their seats around me as the last bell rang. As usual, they all filled the seats that were not directly next to me and continued to talk.

"Okay," the teacher said, "Calm down. Let's get started."

He moved to close the door just as a kid with shaggy, brown hair ran through.

"Ah," the teacher said, "Nice of you to join us Mr. Riggs."

"Sorry," the boy muttered, walking over to the seat on my left.

The teacher turned around and started to lecture about something having to do with the pyramids, but I was more intrigued by the fact that "Mr. Riggs" was sliding a note onto the wood of my desk.

I looked up to see him smiling at me with a smile of regret and pity.

I hated being pitied.

Lifting my hand hesitantly, I slid the paper under the desk and unfolded it with shaking fingers.

I didn't mean to offend you in any way. It looked like you needed help in the hallway. ~Chandler

At that moment, I felt bad for what I had said in the hallway.

I lifted my pen into my hand and wrote a quick apology for what I yelled at him and signed my name, sliding it onto his desk.

What I said in the hallway was pretty cruel considering Chandler had never been one of the kids that had teased me.

He smiled when he read it and wrote under my own writing.

When he passed it back to me, it read: I'm sorry that people are so mean to you. If you want, we can be friends.

I turned to him and couldn't help but giggle at the goofy grin that was etched on his face.

When I nodded, he turned to the front of the room and I did the same, just as our teacher was walking over to us.

"Miss, what is it that you have there?"

He held out his hand as the other students snickered.

As I placed the note in his hand, he skimmed through it and then gave me a sympathetic smile.

"Detention," he whispered to Chandler and I, "No note passing in class."

Both Chandler and I nodded and before our teacher turned and walked away.

"Looks like we'll have plenty of opportunity to become friends in detention," Chandler whispered to me.

I nodded, "Sure looks like it."

Topic: doing something together

Okay, this was a really short and terrible chapter, but I'm still grounded so what did you expect. It's been a really crappy week and it's only Tuesday (groans). I don't know why I did a chapter like this, but I think I'll make a part two to it so it's not this short blob that has no purpose at all. Errmmmm... I've been getting questions on whether or not you guys can still send me requests and the answer is... YES. I love doing requests and that won't be ending anytime soon. Hopefully I'll be ungrounded soon and I can update daily because I miss talking to you guys at all times of the day and stuff, so hope for me. Luv ya ~Miki
