Chapter 23 - Darkness

I slunk around, not in the mood for anything. It's been two days since I've last seen Gerran. I'm getting worried. I stalked the corridors. Man my shoulders are killing me. I had a free period in about five minutes. What to do.

"Hey Georgie." Tyler passed my looming shadows.

"Mm hey Ty." I replied. "Where's Anna?"

"Er. We decided to take a break." He muttered. My eyes widened. "Eh non! No! We aren't breaking up. Anna's got a job interview up in Windstone."

"And she didn't tell me?" I snorted.

"She did. Check your phone." And with that, he ran off.

Bringing my phone out of my pocket, I scanned the screen. Indeed, there was a message from Anna, as well as two other messages from Skandar and a notification. It was my birthday soon; in two weeks. I sighed as I checked Skandar's messages. 'Meet me at the tree.' 'I got a surprise.' The tree was on the other side of the school. Argh. I'm not bothered. Oh wells, got nothing better to do. I dragged my feet to the tree, and saw Skandar swinging his legs up and down on the treehouse.

"Hey Skandar!" I yelled.

"G! Come up!" He yelled back and I climbed the wooden planks.

"What's up?" I swung up next to him.

"This," he turned around and gestured to the floor. "Is a picnic." He beamed.

"Eh?" I asked, confused. I looked back and saw an abundance of food piled on top of a red tablecloth. "Oh!"

"I saw you sulking again, and you needed to be cheered up." He smiled and planted a kiss on my lips briefly.

I giggled feverishly, "Oh, thanks Skandar, this really cheered me up."

We sat down to eat, and I stuffed myself half-heartedly until Skandar spoke.

"Georgie," he started.

"Ya?" I choked down an eclair.

"If you had to choose, would you choose me or Logan?" He asked.

I stopped dead in my tracks, the eclair three-quarters of the way into my mouth.

"I mean, I don't mean to rush you, you got all the time in the world to choose, but I really like you." He whispered, leaning closer.

I noticed how he used "like" instead of "love". I gulped down the eclair and he pressed his lips onto mine. I fell back, surprised, but he kept on coming. I relaxed, and Skandar eased in slowly. But I felt like someone was watching, so I turned my head, and looked straight into the blue-green HARD eyes of Logan. Skandar hadn't noticed and pressed my lips once more.

"Please." He whispered. "I don't like you, I love you. Ever since we were young. I loved you the first second I met you. I wanted you. I promised myself I as going to marry you."

"I... I... I." I stuttered. I heard a small huff and footsteps. I'm sorry Logan!

"I don't know." I sighed and leaned in for another kiss. He met me softly and released me again.

"I won't rush you." He murmured and let go.

"I can't choose Skan." I pleaded.

"You have to. You can't lead us on. Please." He murmured once more and climbed down the stairs. "I have to go."

"What was that about?" Someone held my hand. No prizes for guessing who that was.

"Hi Logan." I whispered.

"Why Georgie, why." He murmured, hurt.

"I love him, Logan." I muttered.

"And I? Am I merely a stand in?" He raged.

"No! Everything I experienced with you was real! I love you too!" I cried. "I just can't choose." A tear rolled down.

"I'm sorry." He softened and pulled me close. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have taken it out on you."

"It's okay. I know how you feel." I whispered.

"Come with me." He whispered and pulled me to the back oval.

"What?" I asked.

"There!" He pointed.

In the middle of the oval, spelt out in pink pebbles against the green grass, was "I love you."

"Logan." I started.

"Shhh." He placed a finger on my lip and linked his fingers behind my back. "I love you Georgie, and I'm not afraid to show it. The day you asked me for an autograph, I was so happy. But I knew that you wouldn't remember me. I was heartbroken, I tried so desperately to see you. And then you made the part, I thought I would finally have the chance. I've only ever wanted you. Every other girl I dated, it was never the same. I wanted you."

"I don't know what to say." I replied.

"Don't." He smiled and leaned in and pressed his soft lips onto mine. Our lips moved in sync and he deepened the kiss, but not too far.

"I love you." He said confidently.

I lay there on my bed, while Skemmy and Lemmy fought at the base of the bed and downstairs I could hear Ryan and Stephy argue about who knows what.

(A/N: Ryan and Stephy are her stepparents. :) )

"No Lemmy! Do not bite Skemmy." I sighed.

I feel so guilty. I feel like a player. I shouldn't kiss both of them. I have to make a decision. I just have to. I reviewed all the times I spent with Logan and Skandar, and the answer was clear.

I'm so sorry! This was meant to be uploaded last week, but I lost track of time! The next chappie is the decision. I ask again, Logan or Skandar?
