Chapter 14

Chapter 14 - Blue Glitter Dust

I sat up. The swirls and flecks of peachy orange paint of the nurse's office surround me. I was still here?! Voices were murmuring outside. I could make out two, maybe three. They might have belonged to Logan, Skandar and Anna. Before I could think of anything else Anna burst through the doors.

"Georgie! We found some clues." She cried.

"Really?" I asked. This was serious; Anna never used my full name unless there's something bad.

"Yeah, we found some stuff on the plate of cheese you were eating." She stated.

"I don't think it's the cheese though. Are you sure they poisoned the cheese?" This didn't add up.

"Yeah, we found this glittery blue stuff near the plates." She continued.

"Didn't Nina paint her nails with Blue Glitter Dust?" Now we were getting somewhere. A shriek came from outside the office and Logan and Skandar appeared, holding Nina. A very agitated Nina.

"I'm guessing the trap worked." I smirked. "Why did you do it Nina."

"Ugh, I didn't do anything. I just picked up the cheese platter but it had too much fat so I put it back down. Then Anna must've picked it up for you." She whined.

"What about the glitter?" Interrogated Anna.

"It must've come off when I picked it up. I forgot to put a top coat on. Plus it wasn't just me, all my friends have the same nail colour." She sat down, tight-lipped. "I know I hate you, but I would never poison you. I was thinking of chopping your hair off though." She smiled weakly.

"I guess we have reached the truth. It was an accident." I concluded.

"Actually, your investigation is far from over." Nina stated. "All my friends picked up a plate of cheese too. There's no guarantee they might have put poison in it before putting it down and Anna getting it. We all know you too well to know you'd get the furthest plate from the front."

"Since when did this become CSI?" I smiled.

"Ever since they poisoned you." All three of them said together. Nina brushed off the dirt from her dark purple jeans and walked out of the room, slamming the door hard in the process.

"So we have new suspects. Nina's 'friends' a.k.a her posse." Stated Anna.

"But there are like twelve of them. How will we know who done it?" I furrowed my eyebrows.

"Easy, if plan one didn't work, they would go to plan two right?" Smirked Anna.

"What are you saying?" Logan, Skandar and I eyed her suspiciously.

"We wait for the culprit to strike again." She smirked.

"Which brings us back to when did this become CSI?" I huffed. All three of them laughed before dragging me to French. Oh yeah, did I mention both Logan and Skandar are in all of my classes. What luck I have. Hehe.
