Chapter 6 - Struck
Logan pulled me all the way to the Sweets Lounge/set. His muscular arm holding onto me whenever I lagged breath. We stopped at the entrance and Logan flashed his card at the security guard. He grunted and let us through.
I gasped. I've seen ordinary sets about the size of a football field. But this was nothing like it. The set was about two football field wide and three long. I bet, twenty of my house area, maybe more, could fit onto this gigantic set. I was so giddy I forgot I was still holding his hand.
A ting of red coloured my cheeks. He led me over to a tent and started a tour.
"This is the editing tent. It's where all the clips we filmed are edited. Hence the name." He chuckled.
Logan walked over to the next tent.
"Ah, you said you were applying for the lead?"
"Yes." I said.
He smirked. "Mmkay. I'll lead you to the application tent later. But first, before we continue our tour, I have to eat." He licked his lips. We practically ran to one of the largest tents on the set. As we slid through the gap in the tent, a whack of culinary goodness, or the smell of it, filled me. I could smell, croissants, toast, eggs and OMG Logan's favourite food, HAMBURGERS.
We scampered over to the counter and looked the server in the eye. The server, whose name was printed "Sacride" on the name tag, caught a glimpse of Logan's blue eyes and smiled before turning to the fridge. He placed a plate into the microwave.
"On time, as usual." He handed a plate of delicious goodness, a beef patty and gooey cheese burger and thin crispy fries.
"Thanks Sacride." Logan clasped the plate with both hands and stuck his nose into the bellowing steam coming out of the burger.
"And what would you like young lady?" Sacride turned to me.
"I'll have a dark chocolate croissant thanks."
"As you wish."
He placed a croissant filled with dark chocolate chips into the oven. After 5 minutes, the oven sounded and Sacride plucked the croissant from the oven and onto a plate.
"Here you go, love."
I held the plate with three fingers and doused my nose into the steam. Logan led us to the closest table and we sat down.
"So tell me about yourself. What's your favourite colour?" Logan asked between mouthfuls.
"I like-"
"Wait let me guess, green?" He interrupted.
"How'd ya know?" I gasped.
He muttered something under his breath.
"Ok, how about your favourite book?" He questioned, taking another fry.
"I love the caster series."
"Me too. Which book?"
"Beautiful Redemption."
"L? Is that you?" I recognised that line immediately.
"Come out, Ethan. I'm waiting." I replied.
We burst out laughing.
"I love that book." He chuckled.
"Me too."
A bell sounded through the tent and Logan looked up.
"C'mon, that's the bell for application." He shoved the last couple of fries into his mouth and I finished my last mouthful of that delicious croissant. That delicious chocolaty goodness. Mm..
"Georgie?" Logan waved his hand in front of me and chuckled. "Let's go."
He entwined his fingers through mine and we ran out of the craft service tent and into the open. I looked up into the eyes of a girl. Uh oh. Trouble.
