Chapter 18 - Found Out

"We were going to-" Tyler stepped up. "After we sorted our feelings out?"

"Well have you?" Skandar wiggled his eyebrows at his brother.

"We're not dating!" Blurted Anna.

"Uh. Huh." I smirked. "How long?"

"About one month." She replied sheepishly.

I snapped right then and there."Are you serious? Do you even think of me as a bestie? Why didn't you tell me? How did you guys start? What the heck? I don't believe this! One month! OMG. Skandar! You knew about this!" I babbled on, the three staring at me wondrously while I flung around like a maniac.

"Erm." Muttered Tyler. "On the bright side, we're going to the Christmas Ball together?"

"It's in December, Ty. That's in five months."Skandar pointed out. "A lot can happen in five months."

"Have YOU found a date yet?" Tyler snapped.

"Also, we have graduation after the Ball." I interrupted.

"I do have a girl in mind, Ty." Snarled Skandar. My heart sank. I bet it's someone in the posse. They'd all be dying to go with him, but now there's Logan.

"Oh yeah Skan? Who?" Tyler challenged.

"You know who I'm talking about!" Skandar grumbled.

"Hey guys." Enter Logan Lerman. Who stops the conflict immediately. Ahh, the perfect guy. "Am I interrupting something?"

"No." I cried the same time as Tyler and Skandar muttered "Yes." and Anna pouted her lips. "Logan! You must help us!" She whined.

"What's up?" He smiled, oh man that smile could melt the Antarctic. And that perfect white straight beautiful -you get the idea- teeth.

"Georgie needs a date to the Ball!" She pouted.

The second I heard my name I knew she was going to doing something. I jabbed her in the ribs. She yelped and slapped my bicep. I growled.

"Catfight!" Whooped the boys and we both gave the three a death stare dripping with venom and pain. They backed away slowly before running for their lives.

"That always does it." I hi-fived Anna. "You know I'll always be there for you right?"

"I know. And I'm glad of it. You'll never abandon me." She smiled warmly, something I haven't seen from her in ages.

"Come on. It's Friday! Which means?" I squealed.

"SHOPPING." She sang and tugged me towards the Yanamii, the largest mall in the city.

"We're here!" Anna cried as we arrived at the Pantoufle Délicate a.k.a Anna's store where her designs were sold. She named it after the French term 'delicate/dainty slipper.' I have no idea why she named it that though. The glass doors spun us into a mixture of colours.

Black paint surfaced the back wall, where a white sign 'Pantoufle Délicate' hung in cursive writing. Kinda like the ones that said 'home' or 'sweet'. The side walls were covered in splatters of different colours, as if a rainbow had exploded on them. Reds, golds, blues, oranges, yellows, purples, you name it. The only colour not on the two walls was black. Ironic, I know. Her designs hung on dark purple racks and change rooms hung around on the far left end of the store, behind the black wall, lit well enough so that you could just see.In front of the black wall was a dark blue desk filled with jewellery that Anna and I had drawn and designed when we were younger.

I scoured the racks for a perfect dress. But, knowing Anna, every single dress was perfect. And then, there it was. A bright red lace neck dress with black lace that covered the neck to chest and flowing red fabric that reached my knees near the front and flowed to the floor at the back. The front side was opened up like a curtain, joining to the back. The part where the lace joined the red fabric was held seamlessly, creating the top of a heart that hugged the bust.

A chill went down my back.
