Chapter 24 - You make me Crazy
I paced around the room, Skemmy and Lemmy marching behind me. It was cute, but I had no time to think of this. I waited anxiously for them to arrive. I had finally come to a decision, knowing it was the right choice. At least, I think it was. The doorbell rang and I steadied myself. You chose it Georgie, if this backfires, this is your own fault.
I slid down the stairs, literally, and unlocked the door.
"Hey." They smiled.
"Logan. Skandar." I smiled weakly.
"Where the step monsters?" Skandar asked, walking into the living room.
"They went out. Disappeared. Poof." I replied.
"Mmkays." Logan answered.
"What'd you want us here for." They asked together.
A punch hit my stomach. I felt sick. I couldn't break the news. It would break his heart. But I have to choose it now.
"I- I've made a decision." I whispered.
The guys froze rock solid. "Really?" They whispered.
"Yea." I bit the inside of my cheeks and sat down on the plush red leather recliner.
They looked at each other, and I felt my heart pang. It hurt. The truth.
"Skandar." A glint of hope lit up in his eyes.
"Yes?" He murmured. I could feel the tension around the room, so thick that a butcher knife wouldn't be able to cut it.
"I'm sorry." A tear appeared and fell.
"It's Logan isn't it." He stood up, hands red.
"Really?" Logan whispered.
"I'm sorry!" I pulled on Skandar's arm, as he stormed out.
"Don't bother." Anger seethed through his voice.
"I'm sorry. My head's with you, but my heart is with him." I tried.
"I thought you knew better!" He shouted and punched the wall, head collapsing onto his arm.
"Skandar, please." I begged.
"Forget it." He muttered and slammed the door of my house.
~SHORT POV OF SKANDAR~
I couldn't believe it. After everything I'd done for her. She chose him over me. I ran home, anger dripping down my body. Ignoring the stare from Tyler, I slammed the door of my room and collapsed into a heap. My heart ached and ached. It was broken and could never be mended again. I brought my knees up to my chest and did something I never did before. I reached into the hole behind my door, and pulled out the chest. Inside, lay the one thing that I would guard with my life, the golden ring. I know this sounded stupid, but this ring was the first thing G ever gave me. It had a sapphire and a ruby clasped together and enclosed by the winding gold vines of the ring. It was our token of love. She didn't know it, but this meant everything to me. Now that everything is gone. I threw the ring far across the room and into the mess.
~~
"Did you really choose me." Logan breathed into my ear, hands around me.
"It felt right, Logan." I buried my head into his chest. "But I feel so guilty about Skandar."
"If the tables were turned and that was me, I would have acted the same." He whispered. "We were both prepared for this, we knew that one of us will be heartbroken, and fate left him."
I sighed and he brought my head up and kissed my forehead. "Come with me."
"Where are you taking me!?" I squealed.
I was blindfolded once more. But it was only for a few minutes since I was being piggybacked by Logan.
"We're here." He whispered and let me down. I threw off the blindfold and took in the area. Logan had taken me to the nearby hill where we had a direct view of the sunset.
"Do you remember this place?" He asked.
"No.." I trailed.
"Try." He smiled.
I closed my eyes.
"Where are you taking me Logie?" The 7 year old me squealed.
"I told you not to call me Logie!" He huffed under me. "And it's a surprise."
"Awwww can I call you dictionary then?" I smiled.
"Why."
"Cause you're smart!" I laughed as I was dropped down onto the grass. "Where are we?"
"We're at the hill." He laughed and dove onto me, attacking me with tickles.
"Stop! Stop!" I laughed breathlessly.
"Okay." He helped me up and we watched the sun disappear.
"Can we name this hill?" I asked him.
"Okay! Logie Hill!" He laughed.
"Okay!" I cried and snuggled into him.
"I remember, Logie." I chuckled.
"How many tim-" he complained but I stopped him with a kiss.
"Can I call you dictionary then." I whispered and pecked his lips.
"Watch." He chuckled.
I watched the sun disappear under the horizon, the sky darkening with purples, blues and dashes of red and pink.
"Wow." I breathed.
"C'mon, let's get you home." He held out his hand and I took it. The walk back was comforting and peaceful, but I could feel the nipping of my heart, something didn't feel right.
***
"Good night G." He kissed my forehead.
"Night Logie." I smiled cheekily.
"You're not going to let me hear the e-"
"Mm! Mm!" I struggled. Someone grabbed my waist and carried me away. I was dragged away, grabbing for Logan.
"Georgie! Georgie! No! Not again! Georgie!" The voice becoming distant.
It was the last thing I heard before everything went black.
