Chapter 31

Chapter 31 - Hey. It's my day. My spotlight.

"You're back." I smiled. My first genuine smile for 2 weeks.

"You didn't think that I'd ditch you, did you?" Skandar smiled.

"Never." I laughed and blew a kiss to him teasingly.

I woke up with a twinkle in my eye. Guess what today is?

"ITS MY BIRTHDAAAAY." I sang.

"It's your BIRTHDAAAY." Anna sang as she swung open the door. "Everything is finally okay!"

"It sure is. God's finally giving me a break." I chirped.

"Birthday shopping!" Cried Anna and dragged me out of bed and pushed me into the bathroom.

15 minutes later, I was sat on my dresser chair with Anna fussing over my wet hair while I did my makeup. Another 25 minutes and I was situated in front of my mirror, admiring Anna's handiwork of a simple summer up do and my nude makeup.

"Here, chuck this on." Anna threw a dress at me; it was a light sundress in the colour of newly unfurled green leaves with an x neckline.

"Is there anything you can't do?" I chuckled.

She paused, "Well, I can't cook." She laughed and I joined her. "Here." She cried, chucking matching green flats with a silver hint at me.

"Done." I made jazz hands. "Ta da!"

"You look gorgeous. Now let's go!" She shooed me out the door. Sometimes, I wonder what I'd do without her.

We ran down the stairs of my house. I was finally free. Ryan and Stephy are gone. The inheritance is mine. I've never felt better. Lost in my thoughts, I crashed in Skandar.

"Madam." He tipped his hat at me and laughed.

"What are you doing here?" I asked as he lifted me up into his arms.

"Uh uh." Tutted Anna, slapping his arm. "Girls day."

"You're bagging my girlfriend!" He whined and put me down and my heart fluttered at the word girlfriend.

"You can see her later." Shooed Anna. Well she's in nanny mode today.

"See you later." He winked and left out the back door.

"That guy. I really do wonder why I tolerate him." Huffed Anna.

"For me?" I grinned.

"Yeah that's right. For you. I'm wasting a day for you." She smiled. "Let's go!"

"You make it sound like a burden." I teased.

"It is." She replied cheekily.

"That was tiring." I puffed, unlocking the door.

"Yup. But there's more." She teased.

"What?" I cried in disbelief. "It's been 5 hours of shopping and it's 4 in the afternoon. What more is there?" I whined, entering the kitchen and dumping the bags on the counter.

"A lot more. Trust me." She smirked and led me into the backyard.

"SURPRISE!!" Chorused the people.

"I should've known." I laughed as I was tackled by Tyler, Gerran and surprisingly Nina.

"Hello, my lovely girlfriend." Smirked Skandar.

"Oh no you don't." I cried.

"Oh yes I do." He grabbed me by the waist and started tickling me.

"No! No! N-" I caught my breath in between my laughs, "Stop! Skandar!"

"There's someone that wants to see you." He chuckled, putting me down.

"Who?" I pressed in curiosity.

"Me." That voice. I know it from anywhere.

"LOGAN!" I cried, running into him.

"Hello Georgie." He chuckled.

"I missed you!" I snuggled into him, looking at Skandar teasingly and saw him shooting death stares at Logan.

"I missed you too." He laughed.

"Everything is perfect now." I cried and let go of Logan.

"It is when I get a kiss." Pouted Skandar.

"No." I teased. "Hey, it's my day, my spotlight, my rules."

The rest of the night was a blur of lights and we overdosed on pizza and sugar. No alcohol for me.
