Episode Fourteen ∞ Queen’s Masquerade Ball
Last episode of Mr. Winter Meets Ms. Blondie!
After showing her special ability, Rapunzel had another night with Jack Frost. On the verge of their feelings for each other, the two share something that inexplicably made a horrible event to pay the price.
A price one of them would pay.

“I’m fine,” Jack said, trying not to raise his voice.
Rapunzel, on the other hand, just told herself to believe in Jack and that everything is okay. Everything is going well. They were still together. No one had followed them last night until now. They were having a good progress—they reached the bridge leading to the kingdom on foot.
On foot.
Rapunzel can’t help but worry. Maybe I shouldn’t have asked him for the third time, she thought. Jack didn’t seem to be mad at her, but a part of her knew that he was only in contempt.
And that raises the fear in her heart that whatever happened last night had something to do with this.
As they walked, sea spray blew on their faces. Jack had a straight face, as if every happiness had drained from him. Rapunzel insisted to carry his staff for him, but he coldly refused. They kept on walking, and that’s when she noticed that Jack was sweating. The sun was high above them, and that was another thing Rapunzel took note.
A tall arch at the end of the winding bridge seemed to welcome Jack and Rapunzel. Seeing their achievement of reaching another lifeline to Rapunzel’s true identity, they exchanged looks; Rapunzel embraced Jack, and Jack just gave her a cold smile.
This is not how Rapunzel had known Jack. Mischievous, sunnier than her, optimistic, jocular...everything of him before last night was opposite now. As if someone punctured her heart to let her blood drain away, she was uncomfortable and at the same time, anxious.
She was confused. What could have possibly gone wrong? As they continue on and reached busy streets, she lived down that memory when Jack leaned his head closer. She relived that feeling of her head spinning so fast around her closed eyes when their lips touched for the first time. There was a difference from his pale, cold skin and his warm lips.
It felt all too real, yet everything has changed.
Limping towards her, Jack noticed Rapunzel had stopped, deep in her thoughts.
“What’s wrong?” He asked. It seemed hypocritical—he felt every sort of pain he shouldn’t be feeling from every point of his body.
Rapunzel forced a smile and shook her head. “I’m just...scared,” she lied. She was blaming herself for everything that had happened regardless of knowing what exactly she did other than admitting her feelings.
They sat on benches crafted from stone. A few guards were sitting next to them, and the moment they see the exasperation from the teens’ faces they stood up and left.
