Episode Seven ∞ When Desperation Strikes

Last episode of Mr. Winter Meets Ms. Blondie!

While on their way to Rapunzel’s tower, Jack Frost and Flynn Rider was stopped once again by a mysterious, opposing force. In the process, Flynn Rider was brainwashed and forgot Jack Frost—and their mission. Only in the end, Jack leaves Flynn with the thugs as he goes straight to the tower.

What Rapunzel found odd on her mother was the fact she wasn’t really stable.

As much as she wasn’t going to think her mother had gone insane, Rapunzel woke up the next morning and found the windows all locked and chained up.

Even when they had breakfast, Mother Gothel won’t talk to her. If there came a time Rapunzel would look up to her, her mother would just smile and look away. Most of the time, she was peering over their locked glass window. The other ones were really boarded and locked up.

Whenever Rapunzel would try to peer over and see what her mother was looking at, Mother Gothel would just smile again and pull the curtains.

It seems like when night time came, Mother Gothel wanted nothing other than Rapunzel’s hair. Hair! Her magically glowing hair! Rapunzel wasn’t any near thinking her mother loves her hair more than her.

Haircut was one of the subjects Mother Gothel loathed. When Rapunzel was really young at six, her long hair gets tangled most of the time with everything around the tower. After Mother Gothel told her what will happen if her hair was cut, Rapunzel just found a way to manage her hair.

And her hair was seemingly the most delicate thing ever existed.

When her mother was already asleep—really asleep and not watching over her—Rapunzel went to check the windows. The chains were tight around the wooden window she used to open for Jack Frost to peek.

For the record, Rapunzel never felt more alone than ever.

If it wasn’t for Pascal, she would have no company. The chameleon was fond of appearing on her shoulder, and for years it had been Rapunzel’s friend. Tonight, it made a long face when it saw Rapunzel sad.

“He won’t come tonight, Pascal,” Rapunzel said. She revealed the sun-shaped snowflake Jack had given her for her birthday inside her hands.

Pascal the chameleon looked upset too, maybe upon remembering how Jack had used to make illusionary chameleons made of snow for him. Most of the time, Pascal was warning Rapunzel by their unique sound and sign language.  It says Jack had creepy white hair.

In fact, missing Jack Frost was a surprise to herself. All her life, her mother warned her about boys out there have fangs, and that they do nothing good for decent women like them. But all of that dramatically changed when Jack Frost slipped inside the tower.

Not soon enough, Mother Gothel noticed that Rapunzel was not in her room, and was beside the chained wooden windows.

                She’s trying to escape.

There came the strange female voice again. Gothel felt like her innards are sinking. She curled up, and looked closely at Rapunzel.
