Chapter 19 Victoria
Kaine's Point of View
I couldn't help but chuckle at the event that happened this evening. The expressions on our guests' faces were priceless as they watched the video that Damon had brought down. They were definitely going to have a hell of a nightmare tonight. I swear that I could see that many of them were scared shitless and were about to wet themselves from the horrifying event that they had the witness.
I guess I'm kind of used to the idea of Victoria driving. I mean, I've been in a car with her enough times to feel the adrenaline rush as she shot down the lanes that were used for her driving lessons. I wouldn't say that I would ever get in a car with Victoria driving, but if it came to it, I knew that I wouldn't mind if riding with her, I trust her with my life.
My name is Kaine Burns and I've know Victoria for a pretty long time. I still remembered the first time that I saw her. She was a pretty little girl, with soft blonde curls that cascaded down to her mid-back. Her eyes were a light, transparent blue, but they were beautiful. Her eyelashes were thick and long. She had two cute dimples when she smiled and she had perfect white teeth. I had this funny feeling in me when I saw her, making me jumpy and excited. Whenever she smiled, my heart beat would accelerate and I would smile involuntarily along with her.
When she was in middle school, she started gaining weight like crazy, not that I mind, but the weird thing was that her parents didn't do anything about it. Well, I guess that they all saw it coming since Mrs. Jameson had gone through the same thing in her childhood (Victoria told me). I never left Victoria to fend for herself, always sticking by her side and standing up for her whenever I was with her. It was hard seeing her being bullied by the other kids and not doing anything.
Not long after, I went away to stay with Mr. Jameson. I had a few girlfriends during my high school years, but it didn't work out. I mean, I didn't want to disappoint my parents nor Mr. Jameson, so I was more focused on my studies and my training. And then there's Victoria.
I don't know. I really like Victoria, but I wasn't going to tell her that. She is betrothed to the Prince of Salvania, and I’m basically a nobody. Although she had insisted that she didn't wanted the marriage and had never intended for it to happen, that she didn't want to marry Jayden, there was no denying the fact that people have high expectations for her. No matter how much she doesn't want it, she's going to have to marry Jayden some day. I will never have a chance with her. I sighed as I lay on my back on the comfortable bed that I've missed.
Back to the topic of my dating. Whenever I thought that I have finally moved on from Victoria and start dating someone, I realize just how much I wanted Victoria to be the girl by my side. I ended all the relationships because I couldn't get Victoria out of my head. The simple thought of her makes my heart hammer against my chest. I think I'm completely whipped. Why do I sound like a fucking girl? What the hell am I supposed to do if she keeps occupying my mind?
I tried to stop thinking about her, but I couldn't. I got up from my bed and paced my room until I finally found the courage to go look for her. Unsurprisingly, she was in her room.
"Come in," she called from the other side of the door after I knocked a couple of times. I turned the knob and walked in, slowly closing the door behind me to buy me some time. What the hell was I doing here?
I turned around to look at her. She was leaning on the bed rest behind her with an iPad in front of her. I couldn't help but admire her figure, taking in every inch of her body with her booty shorts, exposing her long legs, that looked like it went on for miles, and caressing her ass, and a tank top that showed off a bit of her full breast. Her stomach was flat, toned, but without the defined six-packs. God. I sound like a fucking pervert, but I can't help myself. She has taken off her makeup and had her hair pulled back into a messy bun. She was gorgeous, no matter how she dressed herself. She looked up from her iPad.
