How it Happened (Christian Yelich | MLB Miami Marlins)

Chapter 19

The team were home early Thursday morning; which they also had the day off. Nicole had spent the night at Christians place. 

When Yelich made it to his apartment he saw that Nicoles keys were on the table, knowing that it was still early he went straight to the bedroom and got into bed with her pulling her closer trying not to wake her up. Automatically Nicole turned over to face him still half asleep smiling wrapping her arms around him.

"hi" Nicole said

"Glad your here. I would have called you waking you up to tell you to get your cranky ass over here" Yelich kissed her

"You know I sleep better when Im with you" Nicole snuggled her head into the crook of his neck

They spent the rest of the day in the apartment, relaxing and just being together.

Friday/GameDay ::

Yelich got up early in the morning and got ready to head over to the ballpark. When he was about to leave Christian went back into the bedroom to kiss Nicole goodbye

"See you at the game baby" Yelich told her when she hugged him not wanting him to leave

"Be careful going to the park" Nicole said looking at him

"Always." Yelich smiled "you have to let me go now"

"Fine." Nicole kissed him again "My sister is going to the game with me today. Leaving the car at my parents house"

"So your sleeping over there tonight?" Yelich asked "or am I bringing you back here?"

"As long as you want me to come back" Nicole joked

"Stupid. Go back to sleep" one last kiss and Christian left

"So am I finally going to get to meet your new boyfriend?" Mia asked Nicole

Nicole really hadn't told her family that her boyfriend was a MLB player. They just knew basic information like she met Christian at work. When they questioned why she left the job she was very vague saying his position at the park and with hers it was a conflict of interest. Her family really didn't question it. They weren't a close family. Of course Yelich wanted to meet her family but he understood that Nicole had her issues with her family from stories she had told him. He didn't push it. When she was ready she would introduce them.

Nicole was driving since she had to show her ID at the garage 

"Miss Hernandez" the security greeted her

"Mia" Nicole said once they were parked "ready?"

"Ready" Mia said "Do you get special treatment, like batting practice since you know you know everyone" 

If only Mia knew exactly who she knew, Nicole thought "No the game is starting in like 45 mins. BP is over and we still gotta go get the tickets"

Soon enough the game was underway. Nicole sisters didn't follow baseball, causing Nicole to have to explain some of the game to Mia. 

"Why are they all wearing the number 42?" Mia asked 

"Its Jackie Robinson day. So all players wear 42" Nicole said

"But don't their shirts say their names?" Mia asked

"Their normal jerseys will but these are special so they don't" Nicole said

"How can you tell the players apart" Mia asked

"Its easy when your use to seeing them" Nicole laughed and started pointing out players using their last names
