How it Happened (Christian Yelich | MLB Miami Marlins)

Chapter 2

"When we got to the park the other team was already doing batting practice" Nicole jumped ahead in her story a bit

"What team were we playing?" Dee Gordon asked

"I think it was the Nationals" Nicole was trying to remember 

"Was it?" Gordon looked at the other guys

"Yeah it was. I remember the other girls and I trying to get Harper to come to us" Nicole smiled

"you were trying to flirt with Harper weren't you" Nathaly asked

"I mean yeah duh.. baseball players and plus the whole you can't talk to the players rule" Nicole said

"You can't talk to players include the other teams!" Fernandez said

"No. Cant talk to the players as in the Miami Marlins Players. Not I can't go flirt with the other teams. Either way Harper didn't come to us since we were in Marlins shirts" Nicole said

Nicole continued "But yeah we were at batting practice .. Finally it was time for the Marlins to come out and warm up so out they went into different areas. Christian, Dee, Stanton, Fernandez and other went to outfield to run and blah blah blah. Ramos on the other hand stayed around the batting area and noticed me and the girls .. and came over to us and asked if we were the ones from breakfast"

"I had to make sure it was you" Ramos laughed

"After he was sure off he went running over to the fellas" Nicole shook her head "I remember my roommate telling me he was talking to Christian and pointing towards us.."

"I decided I need to go see this beautiful ladies so I went told Christian lets go" Gordon smirked

"He's not lying. Dee came up to us and started talking like if nothing while Christian hit the ball a few times .. Dee had noticed our shirt each of the girls had a different player" Nicole said

"I was like Oh I see who you girls are here for. Fernandez, Stanton, but you don't have a player on your shirt who are you here for" Dee looked at Nicole 

"And then one of the girls said that I was a Yelich girl" Nicole laughed

"I then got it that this was the girl that the fellas were talking about and told Nicole 'Oh so your the one they are talking about" Dee said

"Yup that happened ..after Christian was done Dee dragged him to us" Nicole laughed "They talked with us for a few and then one of the other girls asked for a picture. so we all started taking pictures."

Christian laughed like if he was remembering

"I don't know how it happened but I ended up with a pic of just me and Christian" Nicole laughed

"is that the one you had posted on Facebook?" Elizabeth asked

"Yes!" Nicole said

"i remember that we started harassing you in the comments about the pic" Nathaly laughed

"How were you harassing her?" Fernandez asked

"She would always joke saying Yelich was her husband he just didn't know it yet" Nathaly said

"Hey a girl can dream okay" Nicole defended herself

"And the guys in our department were telling her to be stop talking him that he's gonna put a restraining order against her" Elizabeth said

Yelich put his arm around Nicole "its still early in the relationship I might have time to get one you know" 

"Not funny" Nicole looked at Christian

Christian leaned in and kissed Nicole "I wouldn't"

"Anyways yeah so after the picture the guys had to head back into their club house .. and we were escorted back to the seat area as batting practice was over" Nicole went on with the story "we got put in some random area whatever. Me and 2 of the other girls got bored so we walked around which is when we ran into Manny, who handles the tickets for the players families here at home games. He also get stop travel with the team so he asked if we wanted to go sit with him behind the dugout. I knew Manny from working reception so I was like YEAH!" 

"oh this is the good part" Ramos said

"More like creepy" Nicole said

"how so" nathaly asked

"We were waiting for game when randomly Manny who was sitting next to me turns to me and tells me "Nicole What did you do?" I was like I don't know what you mean? What? // Manny goes to explain that he just got a text from one of the bodyguards for the players asking if he knew a Nicole who works for the guest services department at the park."

The players start laughing

"Manny started to text back and after a few he shows me the text messages" Nicole said

"what did they say" Elizabeth asked

"I don't remember all of them but I remember the first one saying some of the guys are asking questions about her. which Manny had asked who that I was sitting right next to him."

"I told them to find out info" Gordon raised his hand proudly

Nicole continued "I remember it clear as day Manny looks at me and said Yelich seems to like you and would like to know if your single and how old you are.. and some other questions.. Manny didn't even give me the chance to respond he automatically wrote back saying that I was single. But then we had a great convo tryna figure out if we should answer the age question.. "he's probably tryna figure out if you legal in age though' Manny told me.. I mean I am 2 years older then Yelich, I responded to Manny but manny made a point that I don't look like Im 26"

"you don't" Stanton said

"Whatever after that the players started to come out and I was on my phone doing idk what. It was the line up and the National anthem" Nicole said "my roommate who was sitting on the other side smacks me saying that Yelich had come out of the dug out looking up at our area.. looking at me.. which I didn't believe" 

"i did" Yelich said

"Well I didn't believe it. I was still rejecting the idea of Manny telling me that you guys were trying to find out info. I mean we all have this thing in our head that majority not all of baseball players are cheaters anyways so we don't think much about it. Plus so many girls throw themselves at all of you .. why would you even look at me" Nicole told the guys which her co-workers all agreed

"Christian what did you think about Nicole" one of the other co-workers had asked

"yeah what did you think hmm" Nicole smiled looking at him

"That you were pretty" Yelich smirked

"get on with the story" Realmuto said

"Whatever the game went on blah blah blah.. at the top of the 9th inning we headed back to meet up with the rest of our group so we could head back to the bus to go back to the hotel. that was the end of it Manny hadn't mentioned anything else to me. I mean they were on the field playing so I forgot about it it was whatever." Nicole whatever "We headed back to the hotel"
