How it Happened (Christian Yelich | MLB Miami Marlins)

Chapter 12

Sunday morning:

The game was to start at 1pm. Batting practice was at 10:30am. So Nicole was picking up Tessa at 8am since it was still an hour and a half drive up to Jupiter. And even though it was a Sunday. Nicole wanted to have enough time to drive up there without speeding.

"Are you excited" Nicole asked Tessa as she got into the car

"Yes. Are they expecting us?" Tessa asked

"Nope. They have no idea. Christian thinks we are going to the mall and movies" Nicole smirked

9:30ish AM -- An hour and a half later the girls made it to Roger Dean Stadium

"So what do we do for an hour till they let us in for batting practice" Tessa asked

"Lets go walk around. We've never been here before" Nicole said

"Should I take my bag?" Tessa asked

"Yeah I doubt we will come back to the car." Nicole laughed

The girls had taken baseballs to get autographed durning batting practice. Nicole had a long fight with Tessa about getting autographs and taking pictures with the players. Nicole kept having to remind Tessa that as long as she was out of uniform and off the clock that she could do it. Plus that they had paid for the tickets. No rules were being broken. She was not socializing with the players and she could post pics on Facebook/instagram if she liked.

Tessa pointed out that she did socialize with Stanton and Yelich. But Nicole quickly turned it around that was other days and no one needed to know about it. Nicole reminded her that Yelich and herself went months of dating without anyone finding out. Not that she liked lying but no one needed to know her business.

They girls checked in for batting practice and got their passes. and at 10:30 the staff opened the gates up and took the 30 people to the field. The team wasn't out yet so the girls were able to take pics in the Marlins dugout. Then when and stood at the end of the rope area. Soon enough the players came out to the field. A while went by and the girls were just watching.

"He keeps looking this way" Tessa told Nicole

"None of them have noticed. Im sure he's looking else were." Nicole said "plus I have glasses on so he can't tell"

Yelich had kept looking over to where Nicole and Tessa were standing but didn't let on if he noticed them are not. Marlins batting practice was coming to an end and the Mets players were coming out.

A few of the Mets players went over to the girls. Majority of the guest at batting practice were either kids or older adults. So naturally the players were drawn to Tessa and Nicole being the only 2 girls there alone without any guys their age or kids hanging on to the girls. Nicole decided to be a fan and got pictures with some of the players.

"That was fun" Tessa smiled

"Well get ready here come a few of the Marlins players" Nicole said

Like the Mets. The Marlin player signed autographs for the children at the front of the line first then made their way down the line towards the back.

"Yelich looks like he's dying to come over here" Tessa elbowed Nicole

As Yelich got closer to the girls Nicole took off her sunglasses.

"Can I take a picture with you" Nicole asked when Christian finally got to them

"Yeah sure" Yelich said, keeping it cool.

After Nicole took her picture, Tessa got a picture as well. Then Yelich was off back to the club house with the rest of the team. Tessa was also able to get a picture with Prado. The girls tried getting Stanton to come over to them but they guessed he didn't hear. Dietrich signed autographs at the front of the line with Bour. But they didn't make their way down the line. Nicole decided to just do a ghetto selfie with them in the back.

Once batting practice was over. the girls went to walk around.
