How it Happened (Christian Yelich | MLB Miami Marlins)

Chapter 9

"Around that time. There was a fan event for the season ticket holders" Yelich was remembering "Majority of the team was there we got spilt up into groups and put into different suites... each suite had a guest service rep by the door just to make sure guest weren't doing anything they weren't suppose to be doing"

"I remember that event. I was a few rooms down from Nicole" Tessa said "I was watching over Ichiro, Bour, and I don't know who else... Wait Nicole had your room. I remember her freeaking out"

"Yep." Yelich smirked "It was Gordon, Ramos, Stanton and myself.. she did her job great cause she ignored the crap out of us being annoying and everything..."

"I don't know how" Tessa laughed

Yelich continued "We were annoying. The guys didn't like it she was ignoring us after she said good morning and went to stand by the door answering questions. She didn't even acknowledge me. I thought I had done something wrong. That she no longer had any time of feelings for me. She was that so called "Bitch" your mentioned today." Yelich laughed .... "We had a box of baseballs in the room with us just incase to autograph for the season ticket holders. While we waited Gordon and Ramos started throwing the ball around the room. Nicole looked so scared seeing the ball flying"

"Yessss.. She hates it. When she had to work down in Diamond Club cause Loria requested her. she would always watch the ball going over her head although the net was there" Tessa laughed remembering the sight .. Tessa did experience it first hand

"That makes sense.. we just thought she was worried we were going to break something in the suite" Yelich said "But yeah ... I think Gordon rolled the ball to Nicoles feet. The first time without even turning around to look back at us. she just kicked it backwards to us. Stanton picked it up.. Just as a guest was approaching he threw the ball lightly at Nicole. She bent down and picked it up. Holding it in her hand as she answered a guest question."

"The guest that she was talking to happen to have a little girl and a little boy. The little boy was wearing a Stanton jersey so he went up to G first and got his picture with him and autograph. The little girl though. She didn't leave the doorway. I remember watching Nicole through the side of my eye while i signed for their dad. Nicole bent down to be eye level with that little girl and talked to her... the little girl was basically scared of us unlike her brother. Nicole took the ball that G had thrown at her and gave it to the little girl and basically told her not to be scared" Yelich told the story "and pointed at me. But I couldn't hear what she was saying"

"I told her that they look all mean and scary but there just really tall people. That little people like us don't need to be scared." Nicole was leaning against the door frame with a towel wrapped up in her hair "I pointed to Christian, handed her the ball and told her she can go to him first that he was like a teddy bear. And that he had a pretty smile just like her"

"By that time we were all watching Nicole interact with the little girl" Yelich held his hand out for Nicole to join him

Nicole walked over to him and sat on the arm of the recliner throw he legs across Yelich. He wrapped his arm around her back/butt to keep her from falling off of the chairs arm.

"Her eyes lit up, nodded and took the ball came right over to me. I followed Nicoles action and bent down to her size, although I was still way taller.. she held out the ball to me, I smiled and signed it for her" Yelich said

"Awww... that would of been such the cutest thing to witness" Tessa said

"Best part was that the little girl ignored the other 3" Nicole smirked "she was like nope I'm done and walked out of the room"

"After that there was about a half hour break between sessions. But we were all stuck to our suites we couldn't leave. Nicole continued to ignore us. She told her co-worker she didn't need a break" Yelich remembered this day really well

"I never took breaks" Nicole added

"True" Tessa backed Nicole up

Yelich continues "Then I remember this part clear as day. Some employee walks by the room noticing we were in there, hold out her phone to Nicole and asks her if she could take her picture .. Nicole blocks the doorway and says no that she isn't allowed in. The girl starts fighting with Nicole. but she stood her ground. and we knew the rules by then too.. Employees can not talk with the team. Which Nicole reminded her of and also the fact that she will be fired for it."

"After the event is over. And it was announced on the radio that the building was clear and once the players had left the room we were in we could go back down to the office." Nicole adds to the story "Stanton, Ramos and Gordon leave without saying anything since already the other guest services staff was walking down the hall"

"I knew she had to stay cause I was still in there. She started picking up the balls we left behind. I walked up to her turned her around to face me." Yelich looked at Nicole

"Let me tell you the sexual tension was there" Nicole rolled her eyes

"Great don't need to know bout your sex life" Tessa joked

Nicole laughed as did Yelich

"She was facing me. Obviously she had to look up at me" Yelich said

"Duh your 6'4 and Im 5'2" Nicole drank from his water "luckily everyone had left the other way from the suites cause the door was still open"

"I had her pinned up against the table.." Yelich looked at Nicole "Would you go out on a date with me. Dinner?"

"Christian you know I can not." Nicole said the words. they were basically re-inacting it for Tessa

"I know. your job. please one dinner and then you never have to deal with me again." Yelich said

"One date." Nicole agreed. "And then we will see were we go from there"

"I was already leaning towards her to kiss her." Yelich said

"I had to decide.. kiss him now risking it all. or turn away be a bitch rejecting him and possibly fucking it up" Nicole said

"Im glad you did kiss me" Yelich smiled "i already thought you hated him and only said yes to dinner cause i kept asking you out. That and then that you would either not show up for the date or at the date basically break up with me before we even started dating."

"I might just puke rainbows from how cute this all is" Tessa said

"i love the way he tells this 'story' "Nicole said

"Oh but its almost over" Yelich looked over to Tessa "so after I kissed her.. She tip-toed to kiss me again..."

"I pulled away.. as i said before sexual tension. and told him he had to go before things happen that he wasn't going finish." Nicole continued "we kissed one more time and I lightly pushed him out the door. He went down the long hall way and that was that"

"Pretty much" Yelich stood up picking up Nicole with him. "Now we have to get ready or we will be late. Well you 2 need to start. I know Nicole doesn't take long to get ready but Tessa I don't know if your one of those girls that take 4 hours to get ready"

"Im not." Tessa got up too

Yelich put Nicole down on her feet "Good cause we have about an hour and a half before we have to be at Stanton's house. So we need to be out of here in 45 mins"

"in other words you have an hour to get ready" Nicole lightly spanked Yelichs ass as he walked away to go take a shower.

Nicole lead Tessa to the guest room so she could shower. "Im going to get dressed while you shower"

"Okay just come in when your ready" Tessa closed the bathroom door
