Chapter 17

Monday before Opening Day; the team had their last batting practice. Nicole spent most of the day at Yelich's apartment alone. Late in the afternoon Christian had texted Nicole telling her he was on the way home and Stanton was coming over for dinner. 

"Nicole" Christian called when he got home like always

"Over here" Nicole got off the stuff to meet the boy half way "How was practice?"

"Good" Stanton answered

"Excited for tomorrow?" Nicole asked

"Opening Day is always the best" Yelich said

"How bout you.. your first opening day not working the park but sitting in the family section" Stanton said

"Its so weird. even last week with the Yankee games I wanted to be walking around not sitting there"N Nicole laughed

"You'll get use to enjoying the game sitting down not dealing with issues" Yelich wrapped his arm around Nicole

"With time. Old habits are hard to break" Stanton agreed

Nicole got the notification that her food delivery was downstair, she headed down to pick up their dinner. Soon enough Nicole had returned with the food and was in the kitchen getting plates for the three of them. After they finished eating Nicole picked up the plates and washed them then put them away.

"G are you spending the night?" Nicole asked

"No" Stanton gave her a weird look

"Hey I'm just asking. I know you two have your weird bromance" Nicole laughed

"We don't have a bromance" Stanton said

"Yes you do." Nicole looked at them "Either way.. your gonna have him to yourself on the road since you two always room together anyways."

"Don't be jealous" Stanton teased

"Im not" Nicole said "Goodnight. Ima take a shower and get in bed"

Christian laughed "ill be in there soon babe"

Nicole took a long shower by the time she got out and dressed Yelich was walking into the room to get ready for bed as well. Christian pulled Nicole into a hug and kissed her

"What was that for?" Nicole smiled

"Just because" Christian told her

"Go shower smelly" Nicole playfully spanked him on his butt

When Yelich got out of the shower Nicole was in bed reading a book

"So babe" Yelich said 

"hmmm" Nicole didn't look up from her book

Yelich sat on the bed "Don't want you to freak out but my mom and aunt are flying in tomorrow for Opening Day"

"What?" Nicole looked at Yelich "How do you not expect me to freak out with that info?!"

"Relax. They will love you. Just as much as I do" Christian reassured her

"Babe. If your mother doesn't like me.. you know that saying. If the mom doesn't approve then its not good. And lets face it; your a massive mommy's boy" Nicole said

"And I'm telling you, just be your charming self" Yelich pulled her towards him tickling her

OPENING DAY @ MARLINS PARK

Christian was off early in the morning as the team had to be at the park. His mom was being picked up at the airport and brought over to the apartment the early afternoon. Nicole had spent the time cleaning making sure everything was spotless, not like it needed it either way the place was always on point and even though she didn't permanently live there; it was Christians apartment.
