Chapter 44

"Nik what are you doing out here alone" Dietrich pulled up his car to the curb

"I don't know" Nicole just had a lost look on her face

"Majority the team has been notified that you left the house" Derek got out and sat on the curb with her

"Do they know why?" Nicole still crying couldn't look at him

"We all care about you. Hints to why we are out looking for you" Derek took off his hoodie and gave it to Nicole, she was in a tank top and shorts. "He's at Stanton's house now"

"Well go ahead text the fellas and let them know I'm alive and you found me" Nicole said

"I will once your in the car" Derek got up and held his hand out to help her up

"I have no where to go, Im not going to my parents which Im sure he'll go there next to wait and I'm not going back to the apartment" Nicole was crying even harder

"You don't have to go anywhere you don't want too. We will drive around all night if you like. you can sleep at any one of the guys places." Derek picked her up and put her in the car

Nicole ended up spending the night at Dietrich's place, she had cried herself to sleep in the car. He had carried her to his room and placed her in bed, took a shower, left some shorts and a shirt that wasn't embedded with the Marlins logo on the night stand for her incase she woke up and took a shower. He grabbed an extra blanket and pillow and headed to the couch.

The next morning Nicole woke up, eyes all puffy, took a shower, then went to find Derek. He was still asleep on the sofa, she kissed him on the forehead and whispered her thank you.

Ramos opened the door to the house "WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?" he pulled her in for a hug

"Aj can't breath" Nicole pushed him off with the little energy she had left

"Whose clothing is that, thats a dudes clothing" Ramos looked at her

"I spent the nigh at Dietrich, its his stuff. I dont have anything with me just my phone" Nicole said going to hallway closet were she had stuff stored since she spent time at Ramos/Stanton house too 

"Geez Nicole you could of called me I would of gotten you" Ramos was upset

"He was HERE AJ! WHY WOULD I COME HERE ...!" Nicole started crying again

"He wasn't here all night Nicole. Once Dietrich said he found you Yelich and Stanton went back to the apartment to wait for you" Ramos said "And Dietrich wouldn't tell me where you two were going"

AJ was pacing back and forward

"Did you know?" Nicole asked him barely audible 

"Of course not Nik. I wouldn't let anyone or anything hurt you" Ramos looked at her with the same loving eyes he's always looked at her

She just cried. Ramos didn't know what was going through her head. "I left my job and changed my world around to be with him." Nicole was crying harder now "Im so stupid, professional athlete"

Ramos went to comfort her "hey calm down breath. Everything will be fine" 

The next couple mins were all a blur of just shouting between Nicole and Ramos but one thing for sure she didn't mistake it 

"CAUSE IM IN LOVE WITH YOU NICOLE" Ramos finally yelled at her "I have been for a while but you were with him" Ramos kissed her
