Chapter 7- Looking after the twins w/Ryan

Authors Note: if you've seen the dumping ground then this chapter is like the episode where Harry goes missing and the others go for a day out. Except Mike is here and the twins just don't feel well. Enjoy!

This morning I woke up at around 9:15am ish because lie ins are awesome. I looked beside me to notice Jody had already got up and would be downstairs. I then went to the bathroom to get dressed and on the way back to my room I bumped into May-lee. "What's up?" I asked her. "The twins are in their beds not feeling very well and we were all meant to go out on a day trip today." She replied. "Why don't I stay and look after them? They won't mind that." "Yeah that's a good idea, but I will get Shona to come round as well. I'll just go call her." I nodded. May-lee walked off downstairs whilst I made my way to the twins room. *Knock Knock* I then heard a quiet "come in." from the other side of the door. I walked in, seeing that Tony and Billie were in bed looking unwell. "May-lee has allowed me to stay home today and look after you guys. Shona will be coming here to help later also, I hope you girls don't mind." They shook their heads as Billie said "we like you so that's fine." "Okay well you girls get some rest I'll be downstairs, but I'll let you know when everyone goes out." They nodded as I closed the door behind me and started making my way downstairs to the dining room. Once I was sat in the dining room, Mike came in "okay everyone, we are going on a day trip and we should be leaving about 11:00pm." There were a few groans and cheers around the table. I then heard May-lee quietly whisper in Mike's ear "Katie's going to help look after twins." He looked at me and then nodded. After breakfast I was walking upstairs when May-lee explained that Shona will be here about 13:30pm if that's okay." I nodded. Once I was upstairs I went into my room and started reading. Time went really quickly and before I knew it, it was 10:05am. I decided to walk downstairs and sit in the lounge next to Ryan. He turned to me "you excited for the day out?" I whispered back "I'm looking after the twins so I'm not going." "Lucky! I wish I could stay with you." I took his hand and led him to the office. I knocked on the door as Mike opened it. "Ryan heard that the twins weren't feeling well, so he'd like to stay with me and help. Can he?" He thought for a while then said "oh go on then." We both nodded. "Everyone come get in the minivan we're leaving!" Mike shouted. Everyone then walked out and got in the minivan. May-lee was the last one out and as she was leaving she said "Be good and remember Shona will be here about 13:25ish." We both nodded and waved them off. As soon as they were out the driveway we went upstairs to tell the twins. "Hey girls, they've just left. Ryan and I will be downstairs in the lounge so shout if you need anything. Also Shona will be here in a couple of hours." They both nodded.

Ryan and I then went to sit on the sofa in the lounge so we could watch television. We were smuggled into eachother watching gogglebox, which is something we'd normally not be allowed to watch because of the swearing in it but the adults were out so we decided to take that as an advantage. We both couldn't stop laughing at the programme. All of a sudden Ryan twisted his body towards me so I turned toward him as he spoke up
R~ "your laugh is so cute."
K~ "Thanks, so is yours."
R~ "I'm not cute."
K~ "You are." I said whilst pinching his cheeks. He pulled my hands down and entwined both of hands.
R~ "Do you wanna play a game or something?"
K~ "sure. Like what?"
R~ "hmm. What about never have I ever? I'll ask first." He said whilst still holding and messing about with my hands.
AN: I made these up on the spot so sorry if they're bad haha.
R~ "never have I ever broke a bone? I never have."
K~ "I have, I broke my arm falling off my bed when I was little. Never have I ever wet myself? I have when I was younger." He then looked down embarrassed.
R~ "I have. But when I was little too. Never have I ever farted? Hahah I have." He said whilst laughing.
K~ "duh who hasn't...course I have." I said whilst laughing also. Never have I ever cried? I have and you've seen me cry."
R~ "Don't laugh at me, but I have. I've erm...cried myself to sleep sometimes."
K~ "omg Ryan. Why?"
R~ "cause my sister lives so far away.."
K~ "you'll see her again soon."
R~ "yeah, but when's soon?" He said whilst looking down.
I lifted his chin up and stared at him straight in the eyes. "Soon." After that, we just sat in silence smiling and pulling weird faces at eachother. "Katie?!" I heard a shout from the top of the stairs. We both ran to the stairs to see Billie and Tony looking better. "We feel much better. Can we go to the park?" I looked at Ryan then looked back at the twins and nodded. Ryan went to get the spare keys for the front door Mike gave us whilst I put my shoes on. The girls came downstairs, got themselves sorted and we all left for the house.

The time was currently 12:33pm as we got to the park. "Stay near us girls." They both nodded then rushed over to the slides. Whilst they did that Ryan and I just sat on the swings, slowing swinging back and forth. Ryan then grabbed my hand so I smiled at him. After a few minutes I felt someone push me on my swing from behind me. I looked behind and Tony was pushing mine and Billie was pushing Ryan's. We were all having a great time, it was so much fun. "Okay let's go back girls. Shona should be there soon." "Okay." They both said at the same time as they skipped ahead of us. Without realising I remembered that I didn't bring a jacket so I'm now cold. I suddenly shivered so Ryan looked over and undid his and gave to me then took my hand. Later on Tony and Billie started walking with us. They then looked at our hands then our faces. Billie then spoke, "you two are cute together." Ryan and I both blushed as she said that. "Omg they're both blushing." Tony pointed out. "We're not together, we're just friends." I replied. "Just friends don't hold hands and act like a couple though." She continued. Ryan then explained, "true. But hey don't tell the others we do this okay?" They both nodded.

Shona arrived just as we got back. She waved at us four as we all walked into the dining room to look for some food because we hadn't eaten since breakfast. We all sat down as Shona made us some sandwiches. We were sitting round the table catching up whilst eating our lunch and drinking some squash. After we washed up, all five of us decided to play a game and the twins wanted to play uno so we did. We were going play 5 games and see who would win the most. Shona won the first, Tony won the next two games, Ryan won the fourth and then Billie won the last game. So in the end Tony won. "Congrats Tony. I'm obviously really bad at this game." I said whilst laughing. We then heard the front door open followed by lots of loud noise so we knew they were back. "Alright you lot go get cleaned up." Mike explained. May-lee then walked into the kitchen and found us. "Hey. You two feeling better?" Both of the twins nodded their heads. "Good. Thanks you two and of course Shona." "Well see you soon guys." Shona said as she waved goodbye to us. We all shouted bye back. "Katie and Ryan can you come with me a second?" We followed her into the office where Mike also was. "Mike and I have spoken and have decided to give you both £20 for helping out today." Ryan and I looked at eachother than back at them. We then both said at the same time "thanks." As they handed us our £20. (They gave it to us as two £10.) As we were leaving the office, Ryan turned to me and said "why don't we give £10 to the twins for being so good today..?" I smiled and said "good idea." We then both walked around the house trying to find them, then eventually found them both sitting on the bench outside watching the others play catch. Ryan spoke first saying "we both got given £20 for looking after you two, but we've decided to give you each £10 for being so kind and well behaved today." They looked so excited and hugged us both, then when they pulled away we gave them their money as we heard them say "thank you!" Both of them then ran indoors to put it somewhere save. We then both sat down on the swinging chair talking about a random stuff, when Tee suddenly came and sat on the floor near us. "So you two were looking after the twins today?" We both nodded. I then said "how was your day out?" "Boring, we walked around for ages starving because the minivan broke down. So it took ages to fix." I laughed. "We just played uno and went to the park." She nodded, then got up and continued to play catch with Jody and Mo. Both of just kept silent whilst slowly swinging on the seat. Ryan then sneakily put his arm round my waist, I looked at him and he just winked. Eventually everyone that was outside in the garden went indoors to chill out before dinner.

(Time skip)
We've all just sat down at the dining table for dinner and I'm sitting in between Floss and Finn. After dinner, a few of the others washed up then went to watch something on the television. I said goodnight to all the kids, Mike and May-lee then made my way upstairs because I was so tired from today. I went into the bathroom, brushed my teeth and got into my pjs then went to bed. I tried staying awake for a bit by looking at my phone, but it didn't work so I just put it on charge and went to sleep.
