Your P.O.V.
The ride was a giant Ferris wheel. It overlooked the entire park and was lit up in a beautiful neon blue, (one of your favorite colors.) Well, you thought, at least it's nowhere near to that sketchy one at the (hometown) fair. That one rocked funny and felt like it would fall apart at any given moment. (A/N-this happened to me once. I got on and I thought I was going to die. To make it worse a friend and her bf were right under me and all I heard was them flirting. ;-; Forever alone. Sorry for bothering you with that. Back to the story.)
You and Bill got in line and waited for about five minutes. It was the last round of people riding before the park closed. "What if some crazy athlete just scaled up the Ferris wheel to the top like a boss?" You randomly asked.
Bill gave a slight smirk as you both hopped into the somewhat rickety seat. "Okay, Ms. Athletic. Why don't you show us how it's done?" Bill grabbed the handlebar.
You shot Bill a loving glance, "Ha-Ha very funny. I'd fall to my death if I tried to do that. But I suppose if that actually did happen you would be quite amused."
By this point, people had been seated and the ride started for real. There was a slight wind, but it was pleasant. Your seat was near the top and the majority of the park was visible. The view was breathtaking. The trees, the lights, the little people walking below-everything was placed perfectly. It could have been a scene from a movie.
Unconsciously, you grabbed Bill's arm. "Bill! Look at-" Bill was looking to the side, frowning. "Hey, what's wrong?" You asked.
Bill was working the puppy dog eyes. "Why do you think I would be amused if you got hurt?"
Bill's P.O.V.
(Y/N)'s eyes widen. She playfully punched me in the shoulder. "Come on, dude. It was just a joke. "
Exasperated, I turned to her. "Yeah okay, I get that genius. I don't want to think about that happening, though."
"Well, it's not like you care. You are a demon." (Y/N) grumbled.
"What was that?"
She looked at me with her (e/c) eyes. They glowed brightly in the lights. "Well, I mean, you only wanted a night of fun! You basically used me to mess around with Dipper and Mabel. It was just convenience! Of course I've had fun and I really liked hanging out and all but..." She looked to the side. "Nothing is going to come from this. Everything will go back to the same because its all a big joke."
I felt-guilty? This stupid human body... making me feel things. That's the only thing that astounds me about the mortals. How they had to deal with feelings everyday.
I wasn't quite sure what to say for the first time in my existence. I've hung around many mortals to make deals and haven't felt anything. Why is this any different? She's right. I used her out of convenience to mess with the Pines but she's the first mortal who...I don't know how to put it. I feel obligation towards? Caring what happens to her? She's just... different in every sort of matter I guess.
"I'm going to talk and you're going to let me finish without making a snide comment, de-okay?" She nodded hesitantly. "You're more trouble than you're worth to me." She opened her mouth. "Let me finish." She closed her mouth. "You're more trouble than what it's worth but you're the first mortal I actually like. Being truthfully, your humor and thoughts are just appealing? Look, I don't really know, just know that you're different, okay?"
"So did you...like h-hanging out today?" She timidly asked.
I smiled and put my hand on top of hers that were on the handlebar. "Of course I did. I know you had a splendid time as well, sugar."
She awkwardly laughed. "Back at it again with the pet names, huh? Uh, I know this is random but, can you poof up some sweet hearts? They just sound really good."
Laughing, they appeared in my hand. "You know how to keep conversation going, don't you sweetheart?" My eyes widened.
She snatched the box of my hands. (Little ravenous there, aren't you?) "That's it!" I exclaimed.
"What's it?" She asked while opening the box.
I grinned. "Sweetheart! That will be your official pet name! You know, like Pine Tree and Shooting Star, doi."
Our cart was at the top of the Ferris wheel and it stopped. It was sunset. A beautiful pink and orange hue one.
(Y/N) sighed. "My fault for asking for these then, huh?"
"Your fault indeed." I raised her hand off the handle bar and pecked it. "Until next time, sweetheart."
A/N-I don't know if you guys feel like it's going slow or what I just don't want to rush into anything like other stories. Like you know, they just met and then they are head over heels in love. Sorry if you feel like too much dialogue. Guess that's just how I write.
