The sign read "Welcome to Lawrence", so I picked up my phone and dialed Dean. Before I could though, I glanced at the number of missed calls from Neal. Poor guy. He's probably worried sick. He'll be okay.

"Hey, Kay." Dean answered.

"Hey. Just entered Lawrence." I said and he gave me directions, "Okay, see you tonight."

"Yeah, see you soon." This was the Dean I knew. Sounding more worried and confused than confident and daring.

It wasn't that much longer of a drive; only about 20 minutes. It was a nice house. Two story, mowed lawn, fancy neighborhood. I pulled up across the street and checked that my knife was still in my belt. I was just being cautious, I had no intention of hurting or scaring anyone.

I walked up to the door and knocked. I could hear someone yell as everyone else went quite. A girl, dark hair, pretty, answered the door, "Hello?"

"Hi," I offered a smiled, but she caught on that it was fake pretty quick, "I'm looking for Dean. He said he was here?"

"Kay?" A familiar voice shouted from inside. He shambled to the door. He looked good, refreshed.

"Hey, Dean. Can I come in?" I asked nicely, a common smirk playing on my face.

"Yeah," he moved himself and the girl out of the way and I walked through the door. I was clearly out of place. Everyone was wearing nice dress clothes. Must be an occasion. "This is Kay." Dean announced to the rest of the house.

I caught Sam's eye and nodded. He gave my a look and returned it. Next to him was a pretty blonde I didn't recognize, but was basically attached to Sam. She offered a kind smile, which I tried to return. "What's the occasion?" I asked Dean as I turned back to him.

"It's mom's birthday." He said happily. Too happy.

"Oh," From what I knew Dean's mom was dead, so I was a little freaked out and very bewildered. I looked around the room and picked out an aged woman, "Happy Birthday, Mrs. Winchester. Sorry I didn't dress up. Dean didn't tell me." I gave her the best smile I could muster, which was quite a lot for the woman that gave us Dean and Sam. For a moment I wondered where John was. Surely he'd be here with the rest of his family.

"Thank you, Kay. And Mary, please," she smiled back, "Don't even worry about dressing up. The party's over now." she took a glance at Dean, "Dean never mentioned you before. Have you been friends long?"

"Well, I wouldn't say that. But we're good friends, I think." I peeked at Dean and he was looking at his shoes and smiling. Probably remembering how we met. I'm flattered he remembers; he was quite drunk at the time.

"Can I take your coat for you?" The dark haired girl asked.

"No, thank you. I like to keep it on." I said.

"Carmen, by the way." She held her hand out for me to shake.

I took it, "Nice to make your acquaintance."

"Anyway, let's sit down." Dean suggested and herded us over to the couch. Him and Carmen sat together and I sat between them and Sam. Mary sat in an armchair.

"So, how'd you guys meet?" Carmen asked. Is she worried? Her and Dean look like a couple, but that's not something Dean does.

I smiled as I thought of a lie, "Dean and I were at the same bar. I was very drunk and there was some guy that wouldn't lay off, so Dean helped me out a little and asked him so nicely go away."

"Wow." The blonde by Sam said, seemingly amazed at Dean.

"Yeah, we talked, exchanged numbers, and we've been friends ever since." Dean helped out.
