I left him to it and took a shower. When I came back in, he was going through the kitchen and packing anything that was worthy of facing a demon or a ghost or something else into a duffle bag. "They're all dead, Kay. All of them." He said when he saw me.
"What're we gonna do about it now, Dean?" I complained.
"We are gonna go talk to that djinn and make him turn us back." He finished packing and zipped up the bag.
"What leverage do we have? Why would he do that?"
"Cause we'll kill him otherwise." He sounded mean.
"Okay, with what? They're sensitive to silver dipped in lamb's blood. Do you, by chance, have any?" I'm getting really salty about this.
"Yes, actually." he threw the bag over his shoulder and walked to the door; I followed.
"Where?" I asked.
"My mom's place." We got into the car.
"You're gonna steal from your mom?" I asked, astonished.
He gave me a look that meant 'shut up', "She'll understand."
"Okay." I pulled out my phone.
"Who you calling?" Dean asked.
"Josie." I said fiercely and dialed.
"Hey, Kay. What's up? Neal's been worried sick about you." She sounded tired.
"Hey, Jo. Yeah I figured he would." I smiled at that.
"Why didn't you tell him where you were going?"
"I forgot about it." I took a breath, "Hey, I just wanna tell you I love you."
"Yeah, I love you too. What's wrong?" Now she was worried, instead of tired.
"Nothing, don't worry. I just wanted to remind you, is all." I smiled and the thought of leaving her behind again hit me and the tears started to flow silently, "Anyway, I'll let you get to sleep or whatever."
"Okay, Kay. I'll talk to you later."
"Good night."
"Night."
I hung up and put my phone back in my purse. The salt running out of me and down my face. "Here." Dean said, handing me a handkerchief.
"Thanks." I took it and blew my nose.
"Don't mention it." He watched the road before turning his attention back to me, "You gonna be okay?"
"No." I'm pissed now boy.
"You understand, right? How many people will die if we don't do this?"
"Yeah." I said it quietly. "I don't wanna fight. Let's just hurry."
He didn't say anything til we pulled over next to his mom's, "I'll be right back. Stay in the car."
"Okay, be careful, Dean."
"Always." He had to pick the lock, but it was easy and he went inside.
I had to admit, I had a little crush on Dean. I mean he was good looking and, more importantly, good at his job. He was a lot like me as well, which didn't hurt. Sam wasn't bad either. He was tall, and good looking, but his personality was lacking in some areas; just too softhearted.
I got lost in thought. Dean getting in the car scared me and I jumped a little, "How was it?"
Then Sam got in the back, Dean seemed annoyed, "Great. Get out of the car, Sam."
