In the last week, I've learned a lot. The guys caught me up on what's going on the year I was gone, which is a lot to handle. Then, the morning after we had a battle with the ghosts of people we knew, Dean was visited by Castiel in a dream. He told Dean about some seals that keep Lucifer locked away and how a demon called Lilith was breaking them.

But besides all that stress, I've been okay. Dean, and even Sam sometimes, keep asking me questions about my past. They saw the ghost of my dad and now they want answers. I think they think I killed him. They didn't need to know what happened just yet. And Dean keeps harassing me about my middle name, Dmitri. I did say it was embarrassing, even though I kinda like it.

I was hanging out in Sam and Dean's room in a motel in Kansas. We just finished a simple ghost problem and nothing better had come up just yet. Sam went out for a walk about an hour ago, just after Dean fell asleep. I asked him why, but he just said he had stuff to think about, which I could understand. I spent the time alone, basically alone, to think myself.

Hm, tea sounds good right now.

"Yeah, it does." I stood and went to the kitchen.

How does water pressure in homes work?

"Good, question. I don't know. I'm sure we can ask next time we see a plumber, though. Don't you worry."

Hey, you think Castiel is cute?

"Meh. I mean, he's an angel, right? So technically he's perfect. But doesn't really live up to my standards."

What standards, you potato.

"Hey, rude. Besides, you gotta live with this potato, so get used to it."

Sure, sure. But Castiel though. I mean, not him really, but the guy he's possessing.

"Yeah, a little. But you only saw him once and it was dark. And that was three weeks ago. Your mind might be a bit fuzzy." I jumped onto the counter and waited for the water to boil.

Might be. Wouldn't hurt to get another look, though.

"You say 'though' a lot. Plus I don't really wanna think about this. Can we not, please?"

Fine. What else is there? Oh how about this song... I started playing "White Christmas" in my head. Unfortunately, I only knew the first line of the lyrics, but it was lovely all the same and it passed the time until the tea brewed.

I heard Dean talking in the other room, and smiled. Aw, he's talking in his sleep. I mixed in the sugar and cream and went back in to check on him (the kitchen was separated by a wall). I was shocked to find that he was fully awake and sitting up, but even more shocked to see Castiel standing next to him, "Oh, hey again."

"Hello, Kaylee." Castiel nodded.

"It's Kay. What's going on?"

"I just went on a trip to the past with the help of our friend here." Dean said sarcastically.

"What?" I asked and sat on the bed adjacent Dean.

"I sent Dean back in time to see his parents." Castiel explained.

"Oh, right, of course." I sipped my tea.

"Sam is at a warehouse east of here. You should go get him." Castiel said.

"Yeah, he's out on a walk, I thought?" I said and Castiel left, "I don't like that. He didn't even say goodbye."

"Yeah, well. Let's go get Sam." Dean said and grabbed his coat. I was in my pj's so I got dressed in a hurry and met him in the car. We to the warehouse and searched quietly through and found Sam and the demon, Ruby, torturing another demon. We walked in just as Sam was using some kind of power to exercise it. He'd mentioned this to me before, but I'd forgotten about it. Sam turned and saw us standing there, behind him, and begged for forgiveness with his eyes. Dean acted fast. He went at Ruby with the knife she gave them, and he would have killed her, but Sam stopped him.

"Take him to the hospital." Sam ordered Ruby. She grabbed the guy and left. Sam held on a minute longer until we heard the door outside close, signaling Ruby had left the building.

But once he did let go, Dean sped walked to the car, "Dean." I called after him and jumped in the front seat. He was mad as all hell, but he still waited for Sam. When he got there, he glanced at me sitting in his spot, "Shotgun." I said harshly. He took it and sat in the back.

It was a race to get home. We weren't in the car for 3 minutes when we pulled up to the hotel. "Pack a bag, Kay." Yeah, he's pissed. I did as I was told and started packing. I'd calm him down on the road or where ever we stopped next.

"Dean. What are you doing? Are you leaving?" Sam interrupted.

"You don't need me. You and Ruby go hunt demons."

"Dean, cmon man." Sam said and promptly got whacked by Dean.

"You satisfied?" Sam asked after a second to recover. Dean hit him again. I walked a little closer so I could intervene if it got too hairy. "Guess not."

"Do you even know how far off the reservation you've gone? How far from normal, from human?"

"I'm just exercising demons."

"With your mind!" Dean yelled. It scared me a little. I've never seen him so angry. He shook his head, "What else can you do?"

"I can send em back to hell. It only works with demons and that's it."

Dean grabbed Sam by the shirt and shoved him forward, "What else can you do?" He raised his voice again.

"I told you."

"And I have every reason in the world to believe that." Dean said. They continued to argue. A "slippery slope" was mentioned and so was trickery. Dean clearly didn't like Ruby. Understandable. Dean knocked over a lamp in frustration, "If I didn't know you, I would want to hunt you. And so would other hunters." That was a bit far, Dean.

"You were gone. I was here. I had to keep on fighting without you."

"Kay was here." Dean said, bringing my attention back to the moment.

"Yes, but she was happy." Dean couldn't refuse that. "And what I'm doing here, it works."

"Well, tell me. If it's so terrific, then why'd you lie about it to me. Why did an angel tell me to stop you?"

"Castiel?" I asked.

"Yeah." He glanced at me, "Cas said that if I don't stop you, he will." He looked like he was almost crying. I stood behind him and placed a hand on his shoulder blade. "So what that means, Sam, that means that God doesn't want you doing this. So you just gonna stand there and tell me 'everything is all good'?"

Sam's phone rang and interrupted the moment. Sam picked up and I left Dean's side to sit down and get out my pack of cards. Castiel? Why? What's wrong with this? It might be nothing, but if Cas says to stop, we'd better stop, right?
