Daughter of a Myth

Chapter 6

I woke up, and jumped out of my bed.  I ran to my closet and grabbed my backpack, and threw it on my bed.  Then I grabbed my swimsuit and went into my bathroom and took a quick shower then pulled it on.  I walked out of my bathroom and then went to the bag I threw on my bed.  I started to put clothes in it.  I remembered what the voice had said so I grabbed a few more clothes and stuffed them in.  I looked around my room for anything else i might need.  

I ran into my bathroom again and found a little jewelry box and put my jewelry in it.  Then I put that into my bag.  The last thing I grabbed was three of my books.  I stuffed those in the bag and then I pulled a skirt and shirt over my swim suit.  

I ran downstairs were Mary was making toast.  She spotted me and put the toast on a plate then walked over to me.

"Hey are you ready to go" she asked handing me the plate

"As i'll every be" I said taking the plate taking a bit of the toast.

"Ok then lets leave" she said.

We walked to the car and got in, and then we drove off.  We had been driving for a half on hour.  We got close and I finally see the ocean.  There was no one at the beach which meant it would be eraser for us to swim.  When she pulled into the parking lot we got out and she took my bag.  Then she blindfolded me, and started to lead me somewhere.  

"Were are we going and why and I blindfolded" I asked 

"You'll find out" she told.  We had been walking for a while then she finally came to a stop.  

"Are you ready" she asked me

"Yes" I said as she removed the blindfold.  When my eyes adjusted to the brightness I saw a table with presents on it, there was also another table with a cake on it.  I was about to ask Mary something but then I was given a heart attack.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" Percy, Sally, and Mary all said at the same time.  

"What" I asked

"Don't you remember you own birthday" Mary asked 

"We didn't have birthdays, in the orphanage" I said as everyone looked at me sadly.

"Well there is always a start for everything" Peryc said 

"Thank you so much guys" I said

"Your welcome" Sally said giving me a hug.

"Should we start with presents" Mary said

"Sure" I said

"You can open mine first" Mary told me handing me a heavy box.  I unwrapped the box to find three books.

"Thank you so much Mary." I said giving her a hug.

"Oh mine next" Sally squealed like a little girl.  She handed me a small box.  I took it and unwrapped it to find a bracelet with a storm cloud, a black helmet, and a trident.

"Thank you" I said giving her a hug to.

"Ok know its my turn" Percy said giving me a tall present.  I took it and unwrapped it.  When I finished unwrapping it I found a awesome handmade bow.  Then he handed me another tall present but smaller then the last.  When I unwrapped that one there was a beautiful quiver full of arrows.  

"Thank you so much" I said getting up and giving Percy a big hug.  When we pulled apart I could fell myself blushing like crazy.  

"Ok you two go have fun" Sally said.

I stood up pulling my shirt and skirt off reviling my swimsuit.  Percy was looking at me then when he saw me look at him he blushed.  We ran to the ocean which turned into a race which I won.  I got there and dived into the water.  Then there was a splash behind me and percy swam up to me.  We began to swim around splashing each other and just having fun.  We had been in the water for a very long time, and having fun until I heard a scream.  I tuned and look to were the scream came from.  I saw Sally and Mary next to each other with a big monster that I recognized.  It was a hydra.  

Before I could think my feet were carrying me out of the water towards my bow.  When I got there I looked back to the water but didn't see Percy anywhere.  I started to worry that something had happened to him but before I could do anything I heard another scream.  I grabbed my quiver putting it on my back. Then I grabbed my bow and ran off to were Sally, and Mary were.  

I nocked my arrow and then started aiming it at the hydras eye.  I let go and it flew through the air until it hit the hydra right were I wanted it to.  The story of the hydra played in my mind were if you cut off one head another ones grows back unless you burn it.  The hydra looked at me and then roared.  It blew fire at me.  My instinct took over and I rolled to the side.  I wasn't fast enough though and my arm got hit with it's poison.  

I screamed out as I fell to the ground in pain.  I opened my eyes just long enough to see a huge wave of water hit the hydra.  Then Percy was suddenly fighting the hydra with a bronze sword.  My eyes shut and then when I opened them again I saw the hydra disappear into gold dust.  Percy ran over to his mom and made sure that the was okay.  He said something before they all started to walk around looking and calling for me.

Mary was the first to spot me.  When she saw me she started to fun to were I was.  

"Guys I found her" she yelled as she finally reached me.  She started to ask me but I couldn't answer.  I tried to tell her I was okay but my voice wouldn't work.  Sally, and Percy came running over.

"Is she ok" Sally asked

"She got hit by the hydra" Percy said 

"What do we do" Mary said panicking

"We have to take her to the camp" Percy said

"I'm okay" My voice finally wanting to work.  When it came out though it sounded like I was dying which I felt like I was.  

"We have to go now" Percy said.  Percy picked me up bridal style to the car.  Sally got in the front set and started to drive off way over the speed limit.  Percy was sitting next to me while I was laying across the sets.  He kept on telling me to stay awake and that I was going to ok.  I tried to tell him I was okay but once again my voice wouldn't work.  When people talk about being poisoned they make it sound like it hurts, I felt no pain.  At first it hurt so bad but now I have to pain.  However I couldn't talk or move.
