Aaron Burr, Sir

The group of four conversed for a while. Thomas, Alexander discovered, was a bit on the (how to say this nicely?) asshole side of personalities but was all around...
     Decent.
Eventually, James and John got off their shifts and the group finally decided to leave the cafe. Once outside, James and Thomas bid farewell and decided to go "study" in the library (with the way Alexander saw Thomas glancing at the shorter boy, he doubted books were all he was interested in, but he kept his thoughts to himself).
"So whaddya think?" John looked at Alexander as the two left and grinned.
He blinked. "About James and Thomas? James is pretty well-mannered and nice, if a bit shy, and Thomas is-"
"No no no! I mean about well.. This place as a whole," the freckled student made dramatic gestures to everything around him, nearly whacking Lafayette in the process.
"Caution, mon ami," they piped up, laughing a little as they leaned back to dodge another round of visualizing.
     Alexander and Hercules laughed softly.
"Well, I think it's nice," Alex answered before John had to repeat himself.
"'Nice'? Wow," Hercules joked. "Treat a guy out for coffee and all you get is 'nice'!"
The other two feigned offense but all four burst out laughing after a few moments.
They stuck together for a while before Alexander said he should probably start to get back to his dorm, which even then the other three insisted on at least walking him back.
"To make sure you don't get kidnapped and crap!" John defended and smiled brightly.
    Wow.
Alexander couldn't seem to turn them down after that.
Lafayette and Hercules talked among themselves as they all followed Alex to his dorm.
"...Yeah but the ending was really crappy!" Hercules sounded like he would burst out any second now.
"Non!" Lafayette said, seeming to take the subject more seriously than the other. "It was a complete masterpiece, Herc! Absolutely beautiful!"
And that's when he broke. Alex and John chuckled a bit as Hercules fell into a fit of laughter. The confused look on Laf's face made it better.
"They sure are lively," Alexander noted, taking out his room key, and John nodded. He unlocked the door and heard as the sounds of laughter died down when a "familiar" face came into view. He saw a grin spread across John's face.
"Well, if it isn't the prodigy of Princeton college!" the freckled student exclaimed.
"-Aaron Burr!" Hercules cut in, he and Lafayette matching John's grin.
"Jack. Gilbert. Hercules," Aaron Burr, Alexander's roommate, listed off the names almost robotically, looking nothing but exasperated with the whole thing. "What a..." He seemed to contemplate the choices of words he could use before plastering a smile on to his face. "Pleasant surprise."
"Isn't it always?" Hercules laughed.
"Alexander," Burr ignored him. "I see you've met campus' best trio?"
"Of course he has, mon ami!" Lafayette spoke up.
"And, in fact, he just might make this trio a quartet!" John added, one arm slung around Alex's shoulders. He couldn't fight down the smile and slight blush that arose. Burr rolled his eyes (weather at the childish actions of the group or simply Alexander on his own was a question).
"I see."
"Well you're not blind, Burr."
He flashed a glare at John, who in turn gave a goofy grin (wow) and tipped some imaginary hat. "Sir."
Alex laughed softly as Burr rolled his eyes again and walked back into the dorm. He decided to follow.
"Hey," Hercules caught Alex's attention before he could completely go inside. "Laf and I should really head back to get some work done. See you tomorrow?"
      "Uh.. Yeah," Alexander grinned.
"Au revoir, Alexander!" Lafayette smiled and waved as they walked towards the staircase. John and Alex returned the waves as Hercules quickly caught up with them and the two disappeared from sight.
A comfortable silence fell upon the remaining two. Alexander shifted semi-awkwardly after a while and looked at John.
      "So-"
"I'll get outta your hair now," John grinned. He opened his mouth to say something against that ("you're not bothering me!" Or "no no stay, it's fine!" Would have been nice), but his voice drifted off as Laurens continued. "See you tomorrow, Alexander."
"See you," he smiled, earning one back from the barista. John turned around and walked towards the staircase. Alexander could quietly hear him whistling some tune (a fond smile graced his face at that).
"Hey," John called, not looking back. Alex blinked. "If you're ever in need of a coffee, you know where I'll be!"
"Haha," he chuckled and smiled more. "Thanks. I'll be sure to take that into consideration!"
Musical laughter filled the air from the freckled student as he disappeared from the other's view. What a nice day, he thought.
      Alexander promptly shut the door.
