Alyx

It had been a few weeks, and suddenly I had become very sluggish, I could barely stay awake for lengths of time over four hours, and I was constantly feeling ill. I felt my shoulders being shaken and I opened my eyes to see Calum hovering over me. His face full of panic.

"Alyx are you okay?" He asked, his voice loud and clear within my ears. I felt a dry patch in the back of my throat. I went to speak a simple yes, but only a croak came out and it was painful. As if someone was setting fire to the back of my throat.

He disappeared and came back with a drink two seconds later.

I ripped the lid off the drink and chugged it all down within seconds. Calum looked at with expectant eyes. I nodded slightly, the fire gone, for now.

I laid down again slowly, coughing into my sleeve slightly and rolling onto my side facing the wall. I felt Calum's front pressed against my back and his arms wrapped loosely around my waist.

What was happening?

--

I woke up to the pit in the bottom of my stomach. I stood up, ripping Calum's arms from around me and ran as fast as I could to the bathroom. I made it just in time to be throwing up blood.

It wasn't any blood I had consumed because I hadn't eaten in a week, Eric's orders. Which meant it was my own. I stood up and flushed the toilet and wiped my mouth with a piece of tissue and through it into the ceramic bowl.

I turned to see Ruben stood in the doorway holding a bottle of water that he had opened and added something into.

"It's a blood additive, Eric found it, it makes your body last a bit longer without actual blood," He whispered and I shook my head slightly.

"I'm fine Ruben, it's okay," I smiled a little and he nodded and placed the bottle of water down on the side of the bathroom. He looked directly into my eyes and his widened in horror.

"Mum, we need to get you to Eric," He ushered out, scooping me up as if I weighed nothing and he ran full speed out of our little house and towards the group house.

I know that if I was woken up by someone knocking on the door at six in the morning, I'd be pissed. Nevermind a whole house full of people being woken up by the door being knocked. At first I was initially scared that Ruben was going to knock the door down.

--

I was laid down on the bed that had been used to previously help people out in near dying conditions. Eric walked in and closed his eyes as he hovered his hands over me, moving them from head to toe. Pure concentration on his face.

"Eric?" I croaked quietly, and his eyes opened and he looked at me.

"What is it Alyx?" He asked, his eyes glowing a firey red.

"If it's something serious, keep it between us two?" I asked and he nodded before closing his eyes and continuing doing what he was doing until he cursed under his breath.

"Alyx, sit up," He whispered and I sat up slowly and he placed his hands on my temple. Still stood up.

"Your hands are really warm, it makes a change compared to the midwives cold hands," I laughed quietly, coughing after I was done and Eric grabbed a tissue from the nightstand and wiped the edges of my mouth.

"Try and take it easy okay," He whispered his eyes opened as he crouched down to be eye level with me. His eyes returned to their natural colour and his face relaxed.

"Yeah, I'm taking it easy as I can," I sighed silently and sat back with my back on the wall.

"Your body is rejecting the vampire werewolf hybrid, it can't withstand two powerful beings being contained into the one body," Eric whispered. "Unless we manage to change you human, vampire or werewolf, I'd say you have until April to live,"
