Alyx

"She has your golden eyes Alyx," Calum whispered placing the baby in my arms. "She's so beautiful,"

I smiled weakly.

The hybrid in me had taken off, and it had taken my eyesight and movement of my legs with it.

It had been an hour since I had given birth to the baby girl in my arms, I was hooked up to a drip and a heart monitor. They had told me I had been lucky to survive this pregnancy, and so had the child. So I knew right then, that someone was on my side. Someone wasn't against me.

"I doubt she's a hybrid, or a vampire," Calum whispered, his hand against my upper arm gently. I relaxed a little and caressed the baby's face with a finger or two of my hand. I could feel her little cheek bones, I could feel her soft, warm skin against my own.

"Listen here, she's my mother and I demand to see her!" Someone yelled from the corridor and suddenly the door was thrown open, and I could tell from the sound.

There was a thickness in the air, someone was tense. It wasn't me or the baby, so it was either Calum or the person at the door.

"Ruben, come see your baby sister," Calum whispered from beside me, and someone gagged from the doorway. A second presence.

"Alyx, what happened? Why is there so much... blood?" Mercy whispered and I felt her presence near me.

"I'll explain it all later, no one is supposed to know." I whispered and reached up for her face and touched it with the palm of my hand. Making sure it was her and I wasn't getting voices mixed up.

--

Our daughter was in one of the maternity rooms, and I was shifted in to a clean room, clean clothes, clean me, and a clean bed. Calum was beside me through most of it until the doctors threatened to get security to remove him.

I reached out blindly, quite literally, to find his hand. I relaxed when I felt it against my own. His cold fingers intertwining with my own.

I might as well tell him now whilst Ruben - or anyone else for that matter - was around.

"Calum, we need to talk," I whispered and he mumbled some sort of agreement, falling asleep upright in his chair. "First, I need you to come into the bed but you're going to have to push me slightly, I can't move."

I felt his hand on my lower back, the other must be under my legs and I was lifted and placed down again. His arms wrapped around my middle.

"What's wrong Alyx?"

"Ruben took me to Eric because I was throwing up blood, he used his new demon power on me to see what was wrong. My body was rejecting the hybrid power you gave me for a second time," I paused cupping his face. "I wasn't even meant to make it till now, but a way to stop myself from dying was to make myself human, werewolf or vampire. I couldn't be two. Hence, when I found out I was pregnant I sped up the process by over drinking. I needed to live to make sure our baby lived at least."

I felt warm liquid hit my hands and I was pulled extremely close. Was he crying?

"You should of told me," He whispered, his soft warm breath against my neck as he hugged me.
