Chapter 9

Chapter 9~Layla's pov

What just happened. Is that why he was acting so wierd the whole time?Iwas just standing in front of my car still trying to process what just happened. Is that why he was questioning our friendship. Does he like me? No that can be possible. We have known eachouther since first grade there is no way he could just start liking me now. Or has he liked me for a while now but he was friendzoned. No I'm just over thinking it. I was pulled out of my thoughts by my car door opening. I got in and lookedto the side to see niall already sitting in the passenger seat, his face coered by the hood of his jacket.

"Let's just leave now, please." He said irritated. I didn't say a word I just drove away from the school and in the direction of my house.When we where far away from the school we got stuck at a stop light.

"You can take your hood off now." I said looking out the corner of my eye at him. I watched him intently as he took his hood off with eyes still closed and rested his head on the window agian. I coudn't help but stare at him and take in his appereance. i couldn't help but stare, memorizing every line and spot on his face.

"Are you going to drive or are you just going to keep staring at me?" He asked not opening his eyes for a second. I looked forward to see the light had turned green. I kept my eyes on the road hoping he wouldn't see me blushing. What is wrong with me I never blush! Like seriously.

We pulled up to my house and we got out and walked inside. He went and sat on the couch but I went to my room to change out of my baggy clothes.I decided to wear a pair of cut off shorts and a black bandue with a white tank top that had "It's Blaus Bitch" in big black leatters and was splattered in neon paint. I put on my leather jacket and went to meet Niall downstairs. Isat right next to him and started to watch Friends with him.

"We should probably go. I have to go to Nick's and the I guess...I have to ...go somewhere later to." I said with a sigh.

 "Alright whatever." He said getting up and walking to the car. When I grabbed my phone and the keys I followed the direction he went. I got to the car to see him waiting for me in the car. When I got in I pulled out of hte drive way and started in the direction of Nick's house. 

"ummm Layla?"

"Yeah?" I asked keeping my eyes on the road.

"ummm the guys kinda are going to a party tonight and ummm...."

"You have to go to?" I finished for him. When he didn't respond I knew I was rihgt. "Alright ummm..."I let out a sigh bitting my lip thinking about what to do, I knew Icouldn't show up with him."You'll just have to go with Luke then." He sighed but nodded knowing there was no getting out of it, he had to go with his friends llike nothing ever happened, but this time he will just have to bring a friend along.

"I'll have him meet us at Nick's and take you back to the house to get ready and stuff." I pulled out my phone texting Luke real fast then turning my attention back to the road in front of me.It wasn't long until we pulled up at Nick's house. I saw that Luke's car was pulling in behind us. I got out of the car and gave him a hug and we alked in together. We saw Nick and Jade on the couch watching a movie.

It was almost 9 and me and Nick had just gotten done talking. Luke already took Niall to the party and I was going back to the house to get ready for the party I had to meet Josh at. I wondered if it was the same one that Niall would be at but when I texted Josh asking where it was he said it was just out of town a little bit. Niall probably won't be at this party.

 I was pulling into my house and I saw a faint like on in the back of the house, so dim it was almost non-existent. Well, Zach must be home then. I was about to walk in when I saw some one in black walking behind the house to the back door. I lokked in the window of the house hoping Zach wasn't home and I just left a light on by accident. I saw him walk into the living room. I was about to get out of the car and go behind the house hoping that the mystery person was still back there, but I saw the black figure in my house already.

 I watched as the hooded figure spoke unheard words, making my brother turn around. I could see his body tense, maybe it was one of Ed's men. By the way my brother moved when he spoke I could tell he was surprised to see the hooded figure standing in front of hi. I watch frozen in shock as the hooded figure and my brother started to yell at one another. I could tell my brother was inching closer to the mystery person ready to pounce oh him but he came to an abrupt stop as the hooded figure yelled something else and pulled a gun on him. 

The hooded figure had no idea what he was doing and was clearly uncomfterbla at the situation by the way his body held the gun on my brother. I was expecting to see my brother knock the gun out of his hand or do something to get out of this situation like I have seen him done before, but he didn't. I was frozen in place, in shock of what was happening right in my house.

I heard the sound of the gun going off and yelped in shock. What am I doing I need to get out of this stupid car and go help my brother, but I couldn't. I watched the figure drop the gun and run out the way he came. I ducked in my car so he wouldn't see me hoping I would see his face. He turned and looked back at the house adn then turned back running off, but not before I could see his face for less than a second. My eyes widened and I once again froze in shock, this time much greater. I never in a milllion years thought I would see him. And I watched him run off while I was stuck in my car paralized in shock and fear.
