Niall's pov

"Layla I think I'm going to stay here with the guys" I said as I stood up so I was right in front o f her.

"Ok but I'm not, we have a shipment coming in and I need to be there for it."She said like it was nothing and I couldn't help but laugh lightly. She leaned up and gave me a quick kiss before she turned back around and started to walk towards the door. Before she got to far she stopped and turned to Harry.

"Next time, you can come to me. Okay?" She said and he nodded meekly. It was quite the sight. Then she was out the door in a second passing the stunned boys and suddenly I felt proud. They were all shocked of who Layla was and for some reason that made me feel proud to be associated with her.

While they stared at the door in their stunned stupor I fell back on to the couch with an oddly triumphant smile. Suddenly one by one they turned and stared at me. There was no emotion on Harry's face but by his body language I could tell he was scared, Louis looked surprised and confused, Zayn looked geniunly pissed at me for some unknown reason, and Liam looked confused and annoyed.

Suddenly Louis spoke up. "So your fucking the freak now." He said seeming mad to.

"After seeing the real her your still going to stick with her old nick-name?" I asked ignoring his rude assumption. "Harry, you tried to hit on her, Zayn you were going to if she hadn't told you her name and you two were practically undressing her with your eyes. You still want to call her a freak?"

They all shut right up.

"So anyways I haven't seen you guys in weeks, whats up?" I asked like I had never left.

"Whats up with us?" Liam practically yelled "What the hell has been going on with you? The last time we saw you you carried a crazy girl at a party, and I won't bring up that stranger you brought with you, and we haven't seen you for almost two months and now your sleeping with.... what?" He said searching for the words but Harry helped him.

"Head of the biggest gang around." He said and all of thier eyes widened to the point that I thought that they would pop out of their heads.

"You don't just going around telling people this Harry. Keep your mouth shut about it jeez." I scolded him.

"You expected me not to tell them?" He asked and I shrugged.

"Well yeah. I mean Layla did tell you not to say a word I just thought maybe you would listen instead of the latter." I said the image of Harry's bloody and bruised face being continuously beaten in by Layla's small yet powerful fists.

"So same goes for you guys, I mean unless you want to ... well ... die." I said shrugging like it was nothing.

"What happened to you Niall? Why are you involved with them? What happened to the innocent Niall that was scared to make a fist?" Liam said seeming ... disappointed? He opened his mouth to continue but I didn't like where this was going already.

"He grew up, found someone who could open his eyes to what is reality. So I've hardened up, I'm hanging around what most people would consider the 'wrong crowd' but isn't that what you guys wanted?" I said throwing back in their faces.

"Didn't you guys start hanging out with me so you could toughen me up? So that you could make me a cold-hearted and sick bastard who hit anything just because he could, including women?" I said through gritted teeth and I couldn't stop the images of a broken little girl staring up at us with tears welled up in her eyes and I could see the fear her blue and green eyes held when she looked at one of us.

"Maybe I have gone past expectation and shown all of you up. Maybe I surprised you guys with how well I managed to become what I am but in that case... shouldn't you be proud of me?" I said leaning back in my seat.
