Chapter 29

Perrie's pov

I laid awake in bed with his dark brown eyes haunting my thoughts and I suddenly remembered him murmuring in my ear before I had left 'Can I see you again? Tomorrow?'

I sat up and checked my phone Jade had got me so she could always get a hold of me. I had a message from a number I didn't recognize. I quickly scanned over it and got out of bed to get ready.

Once I was finally as ready as I could be I added a little more lip gloss and walked out of my room. I was passing Layla's room and I thought of what would happen if she woke up and found that I was gone an I hadn't told anyone about it. But I didn't really care at the moment. What would she do? Give me extra hard training? Anyways I wouldn't be there that long, and I'm the least of her worries right now, she might not even notice I've left. Before I got outside I grabbed the keys to the new car and left.

I made my way down the stairs and out the door without running into anyone, luckily. Once I was out on the street I looked around trying to remember which way Layla went to get there.

Layla's pov

I sat at the table stacks and stacks of money in front of me. Me and Nick counted, bundling them as we went. Most of the time we sat in a comfortable silence with only the sound of the shuffling money to fill it.

"Babe, Can you go check on Sam?" He suddenly said and I turned to see Jade getting up off the couch to go up stairs.

"Sam better get better soon," Nick said as he put another stack of money aside. " And when I find then person who ambushed us at the exchange I'll kill them." He said and I agreed.

I looked up from the money I had been counting and thought about it, for the first time. Who could it have been? No one but the two gangs had known where to be and when. The information was kept highly secret. So who could have known everything about the deal? Before I could put anymore thought to it Nick was speaking up.

"Layla who do you think ambushed us? How do you think they knew?" He asked staring at me as if to see what I was thinking. "Who has been watching us? Do you think the house is bugged?" He continued with his questions and he seemed like he was going to say more but Jade came back down before he could.

"Sam is fine." She said. "but where's Perrie?" she asked and my mouth dropped slightly but I quickly clenched it shut giving her a glare.

"I don't know she's your assignment." I said and her gaze was cast down to the stairs beneath her.

"So if you don't know where he is then where the hell is she Jade?" I was nearly yelling but I was clearly loud enough to wake up anyone upstairs.

Niall came bounding down the stairs in nothing but a white shirt and basketball shorts. He was rubbing his eyes and still seemed to be half asleep but once he saw me and how furious I was at the moment he seemed to be wide awake.

But I wasn't mad at Jade, I just need someone to blame while I let it sink in. I finally was realizing what has really been going on and now, I felt stupid for being so blind to it before. So when I looked at the scared look on Jades face I felt a little sorry for making her think I was mad that she didn't know where Perrie was because it didn't take much thought for me to figure it out.

There is only one place she's been since we've had her, that I know of, and I remember her being very fond of a certain person there. So the second I knew where she was I was out the door leaving everything and everyone at a stand still. And she had the nerve to take my car? Really? I hardly took a second to label her some colorful words before I was running in the direction I was nearly positive she took.

I could hear Niall calling my name from behind me but I didn't stop. I only slowed down slightly to turn around to see him chasing after me. He was running at the same pace as me but now he had shoes on which must have been why he was behind. He was calling after me but I turned back around and picked up my pace.

It wasn't very long before I was running up to Harry's house. I was on the steps but before I wsa through the door Niall's grasp stopped me.

"Layla stop." He was almost yelling. "Calm down."

"No Niall!" I was yelling louder than him and I jerked my arm out of his hold and barged straight into the house and when my eyes landed on her not even Nialls yelling from behind me.

"She's dead!" I yelled and everyone's eyes turned to me.

"Layla stop your over reacting!" He was yelling over me but I didn't care.

I grabbed Perrie out from under Zayns arm and had her pinned to the wall in a second with my arm to her neck cutting off her air supply.

"Layla I'm sorry I didn't tell you where I went. I -I "she began but couldn't finish because she started choking on nothing.

"You think that's why I'm here?" I said, my voice calm and cold even to my own ears. "No no I'm here because there's a rat in the house." I said and I heard Zayns voice coming from behind me.

"So your here because you were scared of a little rat in your house?" He asked sounding confused.

"Yes, but not the kind your all thinking of." I said and while her face turned to confusion I took the chance to grab Perrie by her hair and slam her head back into the wall twice.

"You." I whispered and threw her to the ground where I had once beat up Harry. "you fucking rat."

Before she could even think of what I said I was on her. She flipped over I get up but I brought leg foot up kicking her hard enough to break a rib if I was lucky. She fell back tote ground and I got on top of her flipping her over in the process. I made a fist, bringing it down straight on the nose. And I hit her, again and again. It didn't stop, even if I wanted to, I couldn't.

I was seeing red, and Perrie's bloody face. She deserved worse than what I was doing. She deserved the chair, that's what rats got if not worse, so why go easy on her.

"Zayn, Niall, do something!" I heard a girls voice coming from behind me but I was hoping Niall wouldn't try to stop me, not now. I don't think I could control it at this point.

I almost had forgotten everyone else was here too. All it was right now was me and Perrie, everything else was red and black.

I hit her one more time as hard as I could and I could hear the crush sound of bone breaking that was sure to make everyone else cringe. I decided to give my tired arms a rest and went to my back pocket pulling out a switch blade I kept with me when I didn't carry a gun.

She was barely conscious and her eyes were almost closed but when I put the tip of the cold metal to her cheek bone her eyes shot wide open staring straight into mine with a look of horror. I longed for the rush sort of feeling you get while watching the life drain out of someone's eyes and I slowly dragged the knife down her cheek putting more pressure on it as I went but not enough to cut her. And by the time the knife was to her jaw I swipe it down hard and fast making a long red line following her jawline that quickly oozed red.

Like I said, why go easy on her right? I put the knife to her throat putting only a little bit of pressure on it and in that moment I found my answer. I wasn't going to go all out for her because she had to be my messenger. Just as it began to cut into her skin I pulled back and drove the knife down quickly making it stick into the wooden floor only millimeters from her head.

She slowly let out a shaky breath as if getting ready to talk but before she could I took her hair in my hand and smashed her head back into the floor quickly to silence her.

"Look at me." I said through gritted teeth. "I'm not going to kill you yet. So you can go and tell Ed that this means war."
