Chapter 19~Layla's pov
We walked into the house and saw it was empty. It was 3 o'clock in the morning but...still. I walked towards the bathroom throwing my jacket down as I passed the couch.
I turned the shower on and stepped in not giving it a chance to heat up. I was in a rush to go to bed, the events held today tired me out. I just wanted to get to sleep.
Once I was out I wrapped a towel around my body and put my hair in a messy bun. Looking in the mirror I saw the blood on my hands and the splatters on my chest were now gone and only tiny almost invisible cuts were left along with a bruise in my jaw from where Harry had hit me.
I made my way into the room that was now mine. I opened the door and saw his body sprawled out on my bed. He had stayed. I was sure he would have left and gone back home, tired of being around us by now. But he stayed.
I picked out some clothes and went back into the bathroom just incase he woke up. I got dressed rather quickly in just pajama shorts and a tank top. I decide against sleeping in my room along with Niall and decided I would sleep in one of the other rooms.
Once I made it to one I laid in the bed feeling exhausted. Almost immediately after laying my head down I fell into a deep sleep. I shouldn't have stayed out so late, I need to be alert tomorrow.

I jolted awake and sat up grabbing ahold of my phone and checking the time. 9:05. I sighed in relief. I got up and went into my room to get ready. I had forgotten it was occupied until I walked in.
"Layla," He asked in a groggy morning voice. I must have woken him up. "Where were you? I was waiting all night for you" He said sounding like I child waiting for their mom to come home late at night.
"I came back last night and you were asleep." I stated in a soft voice. "But can you wait downstairs I need to change."
"I don't mind." He said with a smile and I put my hand on my hip and gave him a pointed look. "alright, I'll be downstairs then I guess." He muttered as he walked past me to leave. Once he was gone I locked the door and began to get ready.
It didn't take me long to get ready so a mere 20 minutes later I was down stairs dressed and ready to go. I went to the kitchen to grab something to eat and saw Niall was sitting on the counter eating.
"Layla, where did you go all day yesterday? I thought you went to make rounds." He said and I knew he still had no idea what that meant.
"Yeah we did that too." I muttered. He was eying me and after a moment he motions for me to come closer, putting his bowl on the counter next to him.
I walked slowly until I stopped right in front of him. I he took my face in his hands, one on each side of my face. And he turned my head to get a better look at what I guessed was my bruise. He gently ran his thumb over it and I winced.
"Sorry" he muttered quickly. I took his hands in mine lowering them from my face and onto his lap where they stayed.
"I'm fine, Niall." I said trying to reassure him. "I've had worst." I said quietly. I saw a pang of hurt cross his face, and regretted my words. "That's not what I meant."
He didn't say anything for a long time. He was staring down at our hands and her ran his finger over my knuckles, examining them as well.
"You were right." He said not raising his head. "he deserved much more than what you did to him. That should have been me. I was part of it to and I got nothing for it. You never did anything to me for it." He said looking up to meet my eyes.
