Twenty Three

"I did... James and I are am back together." I confess slumped over. "Are you sure about this?" My father asked looking at me and only me. "Yes." I said taking James's hands in mine. "Alright... But if you hurt her again I swear." My father warned staring at James. "Thank you." I said letting go of James's hand to hug my father.

Lying down on my bed I ask James, "Hey babe... I have a meeting tomorrow, can you come with me?" I ask him seeing Sarah's face in my head. "Oh who are we having a meeting with?" He asked, agree to come with me. "You are amazing." I say rolling over and sitting on top of him. Missing him, I leaned in and kissed him. "I missed you so damn much." He said placing his hand over the back of my neck and began to kiss me.

Next Morning

"You look too hot for a meeting." He said looking at me up and down. I roll my eyes and check my reflection one more time before heading out of the front door. James grabbed my waist and pulled me close as we walked to his car. "You're stupid." I said giving him a quick kiss before getting inside the car.

"Hi Clara." I greeted. Her eyes tried to pull away from looking at James. "Oh uh hello ma'am. Who's...?" She said gesturing toward James. "He's my boy—." I attempt to say. "I'm her fiancé." He answered for me. I let out a laugh. "MA'AM!" Clara said yelling toward us. "Your clients are already waiting in your office." She said looking at me concerned. "Thank you." I said my heart beginning to beat faster from a quick sense of panic. "Babe... come on." I said taking his hand and leading him toward my office.

As we reach the glass walls of my office, I felt James's tug my hand. "Are you serious?" James's asked looking through the window. "Yeah." I said giving his hand a squeeze. "You've got to be kidding me." Sarah said looking at James and me enter the room. "Excuse me Sarah Gonzales? That is your name yes?" I asked just to anger her. "Fuck off Nadine." She snapped at me.

"Sarah!" Her father hissed. "Why is he here? That's so unprofessional Ms. Lustre." Sarah said running her mouth again. "I'm her fiancé." James said. Sarah's eye grew from surprise. "Yes we are engaged again. And this time it's for sure." I added. Sarah's face looked distraught and angry. "Oh... I'm glad to hear that. Congratulations." Sarah's father congratulated. "Thank you." I said smiling brightly.

Now you know not to ever mess with me. I thought looking at the papers for Mr. Gonzales's business. "So Lustre Industries would like to purchase your company." I say flatly. "Wait... PURCHASE? I thought you wanted to invest..." Mr. Gonzales said looking at me confused. "We were thinking about investing but certain circumstances began to change that decision." I replied looking straight at Sarah who angrily stared at me. James took my hand and shook his head. "What are you doing??" James whispered into my ear. "Teaching a lesson." I replied into his ear.

"Is there a problem?" Mr. Gonzales asked anxiously. "Of course not Mr. Gonzales." I said slightly amused seeing Sarah attempt to hold in her anger. "Actually Mr. Gonzales... My company will be investing into your company. As long as we can prevent any more altercations." I say sharply looking at Sarah. "Altercations??" He asked confused.

He quickly caught on and looked straight at Sarah. "What did you do???!" He hissed anxiously trying to get an answer his daughter. "Mr. Gonzales please set up an appointment with Clara outside... We will be making a business deal this week." I said smiling. "Of course." He said smiling, getting up. Sarah attempted to follow him up. "Sarah, stay for a little bit. I want to talk to you." I said looking at her with a smile that I knew she hated. "No." She said sharply. "SARAH." Her father barked tired of her attitude. She crossed her arms and did not budge as her father left the room.

"You want me to thank you?" She said sarcastically. I smiled at her, "Yes." I said looking at her with an arched eyebrow. "I mean you can get on your knees too but that won't do anything for you." I said my seriously. My expression was no longer childish. I was angry and I knew my expression was dark.
