As we stare at each other, my cell phone rings. I excuse my self and walk over to my desk. "Oh..." I say with a smirk. "Would you like to speak to your son?" I ask looking at Mrs. Reid shocked. "I uh what... No." She said recomposing herself. "Hello?" I say answering the phone as she stared at me terrified. "Oh, you want to meet... I told you I don't want to see you anymore." I say still looking at his mother standing in front of me. "You miss me?" I say repeating what he had said to me.

My heart felt warm hearing his words; he misses me. But as I look at his mother who had just practically insulted me by bring James's girlfriend to my office, I didn't have time to fall for James all over again. "I'm in a meeting right now, a really important one." I say to James before hanging up. "I really care about your son Tita... I mean Mrs. Reid." I correct myself. "But you bringing Sarah to my office shows me where you stand." I set my phone down and walk toward my door. "Please leave." I say opening the door to find Sarah roaming around the waiting room.

Mrs. Reid said nothing to me, but I knew she was embarrassed. "Just... leave my son alone." Mrs. Reid said looking at me with new wrinkles on her face that were not there the first time I had seen her.

A large laugh boomed echoed through the office and just by the sound, I knew my father had arrived. As he came into view with some of his associate, his head instantly found Mrs. Reid standing in front of my door. His expression changed from surprise to anger as he saw a girl my age standing along side her. "Please go into the conference room and I shall meet you all there." My father commanded his associates as he made his way toward us.

"Hello Mr. Lustre." Sarah greeted with a voice that made me want to throw up. "Hello young lady." My father greeted unknowingly saying hello to the girl that had made my life hell. He looked at me and noticed that I was rubbing my arm, which I do when something made me upset. "Susan." My father said greeting Mrs. Reid. She did not say anything, and only a small smile. He stared at Sarah feeling something off about her. "This is such a great company Mr. Lustre." Sarah continued trying to suck up to MY father. "Hm. Thank you."

"CLARA. Show these ladies to the elevator." My father said coldly as he wrapped his arm around me and guided me toward the large conference room. "What were they doing here?" My father asked concerned. "Thank you for defending me." I say ignoring his question, not wanting to blow up the situation. "I'll always be here for you, but you have to be stronger." He said encouragingly. "Now go to school. I know you skipped today." He said giving me a quick hug.

The Three Days Later

I had ignored James for as long as I could bear. Now I find myself standing in the gym as a game was taking place. I tried, I said to myself before opening the door to watch the game. I could feel cheerleaders, players, and fans stare at me as I walk toward my usual seat during the games.

"That's her isn't it? The rich girl? I heard she's a brat."

Another girl added, "I heard she stole someone's boyfriend. She really thinks she can buy anyone." Their chatters continued even as I sat down.

He looked so cute... I thought as I watch James run back and forth. Dammit he's hot! I continue to curse myself as I melt into his perfection. "Shiiiiiiiiitttt......" I say in a whisper as Sarah takes the seat beside me. "Can we not do this here." I say warning her. "I wasn't going to do anything." She said innocently. I roll my eyes, her words always sound sarcastic.

As the clock comes to an end, our team rejoiced after taking the win. I walk down to the court to greet Eli and Jason. "Hey!" James greeted, giving me a warm hug. "Hi." I said giving him a one handed hug. "I gotta go..." I say hating how much I wanted to kiss him. "Dinner's on Nadine!!" Sarah yelled to the team with a smile. I look at her angrily. "REAAAAAALLY??! WOOOOAH!" The team cheered as they began to high five one another.
