This was the last straw. Sarah involving the whole school will be the end of her. "You wanna fight? Come on then!" She yelled as I quickly close the distance between us. "You're fucking dead." I say tackling her to the ground. "You are ALWAYS doing stupid shit! I've over looked everything you've done but this is too damn much!" I yelled as I landed a hard punch on the right side of her face. The girls who were once consoling her were now just part of a growing audience. They were never her friends, but they fed into Sarah's lies like they cared for her well-being.
Sarah held a chunk of my hair as she tried to gain leverage over me as we got up from the floor after my initial takedown. Quickly I knee her in the stomach as she lands a solid punch in my abdomen. Her legs give in from the blow of my knee and I was now on top of her. As I tried to land another punch, the school security guard had wrapped his arm around my waist and yanked me off of her. Sarah looked at me with anger still in her eyes as she attempted to charge at me even with the security guard holding me. Before she could get to me, another security guard had grabbed her arm and pulled her back. "Dammit." I hissed knowing that we were going to be hoisted to the Dean's office.
"This is an embarrassment!" The Dean yelled in her powerful voice. James sat beside me holding my hand, while Sarah and the boy from earlier sat a good distance away from us. The Dean paced around the room hastily trying to organize her thoughts. "I cannot believe you all! How DARE you fight on school grounds! This is a university not a boxing ring." She continued. "All and I mean ALL of your parents are going to be called." The Dean exclaimed as she sat back down in her seat glaring at all of us one by one.
I flash a look at Sarah and she looked terrified. This is when I knew I had won. After a 20 minute wait in silence, a hoard of voices began to get louder and louder. James gave my hands a squeeze, because we knew the parents have arrived. The first person I made eye contact with was James's mother; she looked overly concerned as she shuffled her way toward us. James's father and my father followed shortly after her. As the door shut, the Dean stood up to address all the parents who have entered. "Please explain to me why your children decided to fight on school grounds?"
Murmuring began as the parents discussed what had happened with their children. "We will be suing." A loud authoritative voice said. A loud gasp followed after. "Ms. Gonzales has harassed my daughter enough. This WILL be the last time." My father said looking at Sarah. "Whoa, hold on. How do you know this was my daughter's fault and not your daughter's?" Mr. Gonzales shot back. "How dare you blindly defend your daughter like this?! Look at what she has caused!" My father yelled in anger. "My daughter wanted to fund your company. This wasn't the first time your 'sweet' daughter has attacked Nadine! Isn't that right Mrs. Reid?" My father said switching his attention from Sarah's father, to James's mother.
James looked at his mother confused. "I... I.. It was just a warning!" James's mother said in defense. "HOLD ON! What did you do??" James asked, his voice rising in anger. "Honey, I didn't want you to get hurt again... I only wanted to speak to Nadine." She replied in her defense. "I wanted her to leave you alone. Sarah wanted to help me..." She continued. James's face turned sour upon hearing his mother's confession. "Susan!" James father said shocked, unaware of his wife's actions. "THIS ISN'T A TIME FOR YOUR FAMILY AFFAIRS!" The Dean snapped wanting to steer the attention back to the problem at hand.
"If any of you get into an altercation again, you will be removed from this school." The Dean warned everyone. "You may all leave. Solve your issues elsewhere, this institution is not responsible for your internal affairs.
The parents did not argue and left the Dean's room respectfully. "Everyone go to Lustre Industries' main conference room. This issue will be resolved NOW." My father ordered. Without protest, everyone made their way to Lustre Industries' building.
At The Conference Room
I gave my father a quick hug before the other families arrived. "Dad... I'm so sorry..." I say in the brinks of tears. "I will handle it from here." He reassured patting me on the head. His smile always made everything better.
"Thank you all for coming. What needs to happen now is a resolution for all these issues that seem to be coming back." My father said taking charge of the discussion. "Your daughter is a slut." Sarah said rolling her eyes. "Excuse me?" My father gasped. I quickly grab my father's arm to control his anger. "You heard me. You're daughter is a snaky girl who doesn't know how to keep herself away from other's people things." She continued with her arms crossed.
The boy who had fought with James, named Sean looked in shock along with everyone in the room. "Ms. Gonzales, I suggest you watch your mouth." My father warned coldly. "Fine." Sarah said just as cold. "What my daughter does with her fiancé is of no concern to you." My father shot back at her. She removed the shock from her face as quickly as it came. "Watch your tone Mr. Reid. You're speaking with my daughter." Mr. Gonzales said defending his daughter. "Your company will sink. And because of your actions, I will watch, not lifting a finger to assist you." My father said taking a seat at the head of the conference table.
In shock, both Sarah and her father remained silent. "Who's next?" My father asked as he turned his attention to the rest of the people in the room. My father switched his attention to James's family, "Mrs. Reid? What do you have to say for yourself?"
