On the way to Eli's home, he had fallen asleep. Parking in front of his house, I wake him up gently,

"I love you." He says groggy from sleep. His eyes were barely open, but he kept them on me. "Get some rest." I say opening his door. He smiles and gives me a tight hug.

Back in my car I feel my emotions finally flowing over. My tears cloud my vision. I park my car a couple of street away from Eli's home and got out. "What have I done?" I ask myself as my tears continue to flow down my face. I roll up my sleeves and look at Eli's handprint around my arm. Looking at the bruise made more tears roll down my face.

I rub my bruised arm before walking through James's front door. My father had gone earlier than me after I told him I needed more time to get ready. I made sure the swelling of my eyes from crying was passible as a result of lack of sleep. A confrontation was the lasting thing I wanted.

Mrs. Reid ran passed me prepping for our dinner. "Oh my, sweetie. You look beautiful." She greeted running back toward me, to give me a quick hug. "James is in the garden," she added before heading back into their large kitchen.

I let out a sigh before making my way to the garden, rehearsing a million ways to say sorry. "Hey..." I say taking a seat beside him on a bench. He looks at me hurtfully and gets up from his seat. "If you're here to give me a sympathetic apology about how you went to help Eli instead of me... Save it." He says sharply getting up from his seat.

"He's my boyfriend James. If you had a girlfriend you would chose her over me too." I say unexpectedly frustrated. "Look I'm not here to argue. I'm sorry." I add.

He sits back down beside me. "I do have a girlfriend... She goes to your school." He said running his fingers through his hair. Hearing him say that he has a girlfriend hurt more than I would have expected. "So we both have someone else. Let's just end this arranged marriage... Alright?" I say getting up from my seat.

"Wait." He says grabbing my arm sending a pain shooting up my body. I flinched at his touch, which caused him to say, "Let me see your arm." I shake my head, "I'm fine stop being dramatic."

His expression suddenly turned angry as he pulls my sleeve up, exposing the large purple bruise. "It's not even that bad! Stop it!" I say pulling my sleeve back down. His expression shifted from anger to pity.

Before any more words were exchanged, he hugs me tightly. Tired and in need of comfort, I hug him back. My nose filled with his cologne and it smelled amazing. Before I knew it, his lips were on mine.

Neither of us knew how long we were kissing for. It seemed like paradise, until a voice interrupted us."Dinner's ready." Mrs. Reid said, her face beaming with joy. Both our faces turned bright red as we follow Mrs. Reid into the kitchen.
