"Where the hell were you?!" Eli yelled at me. I look at him in shock. I've never seen this side of him before. "You were with that asshole. Right? Don't lie to me." He added accusingly.
"What the hell Eli!" I yell just as loud, not caring who watches our argument unfold. There was nothing to lie about so I tell him the truth, "Yes I was with James."
Suddenly Eli grips my arm tightly. I had known Eli for a while but only started dating him recently. But still, this was something I never knew he was capable of doing. "Why are you being like this?!" I say, my anger erupting.
His expression darkened, "You have no right to be angry with me." He says still holding my arm. I knew I was wrong for not being more straightforward with James but Eli is taking this too far.
"Let me go Eli, I can walk on my own! I'm sorry I went with James okay? Now let go Eli." I say frustration plaguing my apology. Then I remember that James was going to pick me up after school.
If I didn't get away from Eli, I knew a fight could ensue. "Look Eli, I have to go. I really have to go. My dad needs me for something." I say honestly.
Eli's grip tightens around my arm causing me to yelp in pain, "ELI! Seriously that fucking hurts!" I warn him. He lets go instantly causing me to look up. There he was, James. He was standing right in front of us, his expression resembling Eli's, pure anger.
"James, no. Not here come on please." I beg trying to defuse the situation. The tension between them is so thick I could feel it. "Look J A M E S, you're not part of this. Didn't you already have your time with my girlfriend? Leave us alone." Eli said slimily like he was asking to be hit.
"Eli!" I yell angrily. The way he said it made it seem like I had done more with James than I actually did. "I'm not someone who messes around with other people!" I say blinded with anger.
Before I could react, they were on the floor, punches flying everywhere. "Holy crap!" I gasp dropping my things to pull them apart. "You're on school grounds Eli! You're a senior! GET UP!" I say trying to pry them off of each other.
In a flash, curious students looking for amusement surrounded us. "SERIOUSLY! GET OFF OF EACH OTHER!!!" I yell on the top of my lungs. They heaved from anger, finally separating. "Eli!" I say looking at his bleeding face.
"James. That's enough. We'll fix our situation later. Go home." I say wrapping my arm around Eli'swaist to support him. James looks at me hurt before pushing his way through thecrowd. "I'll drive you home." I say to Eli watching James's completelydisappear into the crowd.
All I could do was say sorry to James in my mind, I know I messed up.
