*Elijah's POV*
I knew our non-existent acknowledgement towards Niklaus would be fought upon & of course I was right.
"Rebekah, please don't be so rude. Introductions please," Niklaus spoke sternly, making the three of us stop from leaving the room.
Rebekah shot daggers at our brother, "I'm so sorry Niklaus this is my best friend Finlay. Finlay this is my arrogant brother Niklaus."
Niklaus seized the chance as he does every single time, "it's a pleasure to meet you Finlay."
Finlay's face turned a pretty shade of pink, "likewise Niklaus."
A strange pang filled my cold dead heart when this took place. I hated Niklaus more than ever. I should've known that he would do this once again. I could see pleasure dance in his eyes. He was doing this on purpose knowing that I would never expose my fondness toward her before admitting it to her first & knowing that she felt the same.
"You don't mind if I join you do you?" he spoke directly to the young lady knowing that neither I nor Rebekah would agree.
"Of course not," she smiled sweetly having absolutely no clue what my younger brother was up to.
"Well, what are we waiting for, let's go," he gloated.
I placed my hand on Finlay's elbow ushering her toward the awaiting taxi cab. That's when I heard Rebekah growl.
"Waiting for you to drop dead," Rebekah whispered low enough that Finlay didn't hear.
I couldn't help but grin knowing that Niklaus wouldn't say anything to upset the human. I was going to stick by Finlay's side for as much as I could during this evening. I had to admit the ramblings that took over Finlay's head were rather dizzying.
Niklaus seemed to take over the evening by taking us to a flash restaurant, no doubt to impress her & then got us to the night club he had just recently acquired. Typical of him putting his hands into many cookie jars. One day I hoped he learnt that you can't buy everything in this world.
"Good evening Mr Mikaelson. Your table is ready & waiting for you," the gentleman at the front door beamed at Niklaus.
I rolled my eyes knowing that would impress just about everyone, except for the ones that knew him all too well. Rebekah also rolled her eyes & shook her head when Finlay gave her a questioning glance.
Niklaus led us over to a reserved table, looking as smug as ever, "You girls sit, Elijah & I will go get some drinks."
We soon returned with some refreshments for the girls. I casually steered Niklaus away from the seat next to Finlay. Even though I didn't want him sitting directly opposite her either but I didn't have much of a choice.
"I thought another mellow cocktail would suit you Finlay," I handed her the glass.
"Thank you," she blushed & sipped her drink.
The four of us sat there talking, drinking & just having a great time. It seemed that I wasn't the only one feeling a little more relaxed since Niklaus wasn't being his normal dicky self. He was surprisingly being easy to get along with. I wonder how long that would last for & I should've known better to think otherwise as I noticed Niklaus get up from his seat & walked around beside Finlay.
