*Finlay's POV*
Elijah bought me an iced chocolate while he settled on latte. We discussed our pet peeves & things we enjoyed to do.
I felt the call of nature summoning me, "Will you excuse me while I go to the ladies."
"Certainly my dear," he rose like the gentleman he was.
When I returned, Elijah being Elijah was waiting behind my chair to push me in as I sat.
I felt special, "you are so old school Elijah. I didn't think there were any gentlemen left in the world but look here you are."
He took a seat but looked amused but the statement, "so old school is a bad thing?"
"Oh no don't get me wrong. It's a rare & astonishing trait to have. You wouldn't be you if you didn't have it. Your parents raised you well," I sipped my delicious drink.
He became rigid like what I had said had upset him somewhat, "yes well I'm glad you like it."
I went to ask if anything was wrong but a waitress had arrived with two plates containing a ham & cheese croissant, a side salad & a small serving of steak fries.
"I took the liberty of ordering us lunch. I hope you like it," he resumed back to his laid back composure.
I would enquire later on about his unexpected mood change, but right now my mouth watered, "yum Elijah how could I not?"
"Good. Enjoy," he was delighted about his right choice.
When lunch was complete Elijah took me back to the Mercedes & drove us to a secret location. The trip was over before I knew it & I was over the moon about another excellent pick. He parked just near the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
"I haven't been here in years. I loved coming here in the early stages of high school," I squealed in delight & sprung out of the car.
"I'm glad I've found another passion of yours," he was smiling.
It had a large number of new pieces inside & it was like visiting it for the first time again. I rambled on about certain artworks as we casually wandered around the gigantic building. He asked questions & listened intently. I noticed as I peeked a sideways glance at him a frown at I'm not sure what but in an instant in was back to normal. Here I was thinking that I was bipolar.
This day just got better & better. To think that I didn't know what to expect what this weekend was going to be like. It was almost 5.00pm when we left the gallery & journeyed back to his car.
"How about I take you to dinner?" he turned over the engine.
"I'm not exactly dressed for the occasion Elijah," I wished that Rebekah had chosen something else but I loved Elijah's jersey.
"That's ok. Nothing fancy tonight. Some noodles from the noodle bar," he suggested.
"That sounds perfect," I leant back into the car seat.
The noodle bar was delicious & he suggested a nice walk around the block. I guessed he also didn't want this day to end. In one of the shop windows sat a gorgeous vintage jewellery box & matching boudoir set.
As the two of us still taking a leisurely pace, hands held, Elijah asked, "are you busy next Saturday night?"
"I don't think so. I'm not sure if Rebekah has made us any plans. Why?" I swung our arms & the butterflies in my stomach were having a field day.
